Phoenix 2007 (new thread) - page 83

There are a few other minor segestions I could make but will leave it here. If You like Hendrick I cauld give you more details on the trigger or any other points that were brought out. To end, I didnot spend the better part of my sunday afternoon writing this to knok Hendrick's system, but to only better it. I hope this is received that way and I didn't waste my time.

The CockeyedCowboy

Thanks for the most excellent review. I think the points you have made in your treatise are great opportunities to generate some dialogue. Thank you, I for one will need to chew on this for a bit.

Phoenix 123

Hi Hendrick! Congrats on your success in the contest! woo hoo!

Also thanks to your friend who is fixing mode 3.

Fundamentally Mode 3 should work very similar to mode 1, it just breaks the order in to 3 parts and manages the stop closer. If you change the stop management to the same as mode 1 and let the profit taking function work, it should maximize profit. Am I correct?

Hi Firedave!

It's an honour to have you here in this thread! I admire your work and especially your "UniversalMACrossEA". This EA of yours is an example to me of how to program an EA. I think it's a brilliant piece of work!

Regards,

Hendrick.

Hi Harry, thanks for the nice welcome. Very nice to know that my EA could contribute something to someone, as I also learn how to code from others too (coderguru, pengie, etc). Still think that what really helps is one that could make pips, such as yours. Great effort and devotion you put on this EA, hope God will return it in some way. Hope to see you bring home the prize when MetaQuotes contest is finish

Here is my report. Ignore the cancel trade as they were tested by another EA and I dropped off after using Phoenix. V4.2, default setting first then switched to V5.6.2 Mode 1 and Mode 3. Now I shut down M3. Hope it can help.

Proposals to change Phoenix code

Mr. Hendrick:

I have put together a document with proposals to improve Phoenix code from October 14/2006 up to date. There may be some things that are not important to you, but I tried to get the most important posts from this forum.

If you have any questions, or need anything else, I can check again the forum.

Everything is on this ZIP file (including some files that were used as a reference.)

I hope this helps! (my two cents...)

1..There is a trading time filter that one can set to start trading and stop trading at any time that he wishes....the contest code is set to trade 24 hours continually. The CockeyedCowboy

Hi CockeyedCowboy,

Could you help by telling me which lines in the MQL is used for the above mentioned? Because i am trying to test out being able to set the EA to only trade from certain hours to certain hours of the day. Say 7pm to 11pm (broker time).

Thanks in advance!

Warmest Regards,

Ed

Hendrick:

Pairs

Which pairs are suitable for Phoenix and which not. So far we have USDJPY, EURJPY, GBPJPY, USDCHF and GBPUSD. I’m still looking for the best settings for these pairs and the settings for the other pairs.

Hendrick, I imagine, if you have so much work to tune out one pair, then you need at least 4 times more time, to tune out 4 pairs. 8 times more for 8 pairs.

Now, if tune up would need to be done only once, than OK. But you will need to frequently re-tune pairs, right?

If so, I think it would be better if you would focus only on a few pairs - that way it would save you some time. Look even with one pair, your system generates unbeliveable profit.

Btw, congrats for nice leading in the Contest. I hope you win!

Mario
