Phoenix 2007 (new thread) - page 119

daraknor:
Dmitry,

The community is creating and maintaining the settings as well as the code. Version 5.6.08 has been released as a bug fix. Mode 1 is stable, Mode 3 is testing. New settings will come very soon, but it doesn't make sense to optimize bugs so we have been a little slow about settings.

If you wait a week or two it would be good, since new settings need to be made and we should test the new version a little more.

We all wish Hendrick well! He drops by every once in a while but now he has time with his family again.

daraknor,

Ok, i'll regularly post all my results of testing here.

now i have a new testing (gbp/usd mode2 risk 0.3 version 5.6.03) and it is great again:

Dmitry, that is excellent news!

We have a style for posting results, and a place to store them so people can find them easier. We also have a new version (5.7.0) that will be a minor change from the version you use if you have Mode1. If you use Mode3, then it will be much different. Feel free to keep using 5.6.03, I am interested to see the results The normal place to post results is the Live Testing Resultsthread.

If you go to https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/trading_systems you can see all of the Phoenix threads.

Market change and Tick data

2 questions:

1. Did the GBPUSD market change character around September? I seem to get different results backtesting before and after September 2006.

2. Are the tick data from GainCapital accurate and reliable? I have been backtesting with this data in hopes of achieving 99% quality, but not sure if it is even as good as using Alpari timeframe data. Please advise if you have experience with this.

I'm putting this here because the optimization thread appears to be dormant.

Thanks in advance.

If you trade with GAIN as your broker, then use GAIN to test with. This is true of all EA for best results, but Phoenix we pay attention more than most.

Paperwork Party tomorrow to do the next round on setting up Phoenix Fund as an IB for FXDD. We get the best results with FXDD data and they passed all of the research I did (Clearing house is huge firm in Switzerland, stable spread, etc) Nobody else had bad stories or objections either. Many of us are hoping to standardize all of our testing on FXDD. I have several months of M1 data as well.

I'll look into GBPUSD market shifting.

Optimization is probably more quiet than usual because I keep releasing new versions :/ I really want to cut down! As soon as it is stable, and we have good results so far.

Great work Daraknor! How do you find the time?

I am not using a broker right now, only backtesting. I will try to push the backtesting of 5.7.0 with Gain's tick data and post results to list as soon as there are signs of convergence, unless there are better suggestions. Perhaps someone could validate these results with timeframe data from Alpari later. Slow work!

Starting with short period (2 months) and wide variation in input settings with multiple combinations in order to weed out false scents. Then will move to longer period and tighter parameter sets. Basically playing it by ear.

Phoenix Fund is starting!

I went through rain, sleet, snow and hail (in that order) to get to the bank today. The PhoenixFund has a separate bank account and operates as a chapter of Be A Light Foundation, a US based 501(c)(3) tax deductible organization. The first donation was $100 made today by me. If you would like to make donations, there are a few methods available now (or tonight):

Google Checkout for Intl Credit Cards (we never see your card number and this is the least cost for internet payment)

E-Gold, an alternative for people who prefer E-Gold

Check or Money order

Wire Transfer

After Christmas (Dec 25th) we should be able to act as an Introducing Broker, allowing you to make regular donations without costing you any money. A typical standard account trading with Phoenix Mode3 and default settings would donate about $100 per month starting out. As more people do this, the amount we receive per lot traded increases.

We have a website set up for payment, which will soon have a lot more information (and color!) but right now it is basic text. We might have a CSS submission contest to make it look pretty later on. http://pf.bestforextools.com/ is the website, and it will be mirrored soon.

If you want your donation to be made anonymously, please say so. I'm going to work on this more and complete the organization.

I included more information from the PhoenixFund website on the forum, and started a new thread for PhoenixFund discussion here. Please tell us what you want PhoenixFund to do, and how it should work. https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/175820

I am using this broker sometimes.

If you have account in cents with liteforex so it allows to you up to 8 lot only. No more than 8 lot size with cents. If EA is trying to open 8 or more lot size so you will get an error.

Besides this broker is not supporting 0.01 lot size: 0.01; 1.27 and so on.

liteforex is absolutely the same with Alpari or other broker in technical subject concerning EAs for example.

I think your problem is brokers limitation of 8 lot size.

Call this broker and ask them to change the plan for you.
