Burning Teko Auto Trading Companion is an Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 that runs three automatic strategies on gold (XAUUSD) and also gives you a manual trading panel on the same chart. Each strategy can be switched on or off on its own and has its own settings. This guide covers version 1.11.

1. GETTING STARTED

1. Attach the EA to an XAUUSD chart on M15, or select it in the Strategy Tester (Ctrl+R) with "Every tick" modelling.

2. Allow Algo Trading in the terminal.

3. With the default inputs all three strategies are ON, the lot is 0.01 and the panel is hidden. The EA starts trading on its own.

4. To see the panel and trade by hand, set the input "Show the trading panel on the chart" to true. In the Strategy Tester also enable Visual mode.

The EA is designed and tested on gold. All distances in the inputs are in points.

2. PANEL ON OR OFF

- Panel OFF (default): only the automatic strategies run. They use the "Default lot" input, and each strategy starts ON or OFF according to its "ON at start" input.

- Panel ON: you get the manual buttons, the position list and one row per strategy with an ON/OFF button and a Settings button. Settings opens a window where you can change the parameters of that strategy while the EA is running. Save applies them immediately.

Lot size: every strategy has its own lot input. 0 means "use the panel Lot Size" (or the Default lot when the panel is hidden).

3. STRATEGY 1: BB BREAK OUT

A trend-following entry on the Bollinger Bands.

- Trend filter: EMA 20 against SMA 200 on the chosen timeframe (default M15). In an uptrend the EA only buys, in a downtrend it only sells.

- Setup: the price moves beyond the Bollinger Band by a set distance (default 300 points).

- Entry: when the band curls back. If it has not curled within a set number of candles (default 20), the setup is cancelled.

- Stop loss: beyond the nearest Woodie pivot level plus a buffer (default 500 points), with a minimum distance from the entry (default 2000 points).

- Break-even: when the profit reaches the trigger distance (default 5000 points), the stop is moved to the entry plus a locked profit (default 2500 points).

- Take profit: a fixed distance from the entry (default 10000 points, 0 = none).

- Cooldown: after a losing trade, no new entry for a set number of candles (default 4).

4. STRATEGY 2: MARKET BREAK OUT

A range breakout with pending orders. It has three independent parts, each with its own enable switch:

- Asia: the EA marks the high and low between the range start and end hours (default 00:00 to 07:00 server time), then places a Buy Stop above and a Sell Stop below the range.

- London: the range is taken from the London open to the New York open (default 10:00 to 15:00 server time) and the pending orders are placed at the New York open.

- Prev Day: yesterday's high and low are used, and the pending orders are placed when the new day starts.

For each part:

- Buffer: the distance of the pending orders from the range high and low (default 300 points).

- Minimum and maximum range: if the range is narrower than the minimum (default 1000 points) or wider than the maximum (0 = no limit), the day is skipped.

- Stop loss: a percentage of the range (default 30%). 100 puts the stop on the opposite side of the range.

- Take profit: the range multiplied by a factor (Asia 1, London 1.5, Prev Day 0.5; 0 = none).

- When one side is triggered, the opposite pending order is deleted.

- Expiry hour: a pending order that has not been triggered by this hour is deleted.

- Close by Time (default OFF): when ON, open positions are closed at the Close hour. When OFF, they exit by stop loss, take profit or trailing only.

- Trailing: starts when the profit reaches a percentage of the take profit distance (default 30%) and follows at a percentage of that distance.

- Asia only: an optional sound alert when the price comes close to a pending order.

On the chart each range is drawn as a box with its high and low lines in its own colour (Asia orange, London blue, previous day pale turquoise). If a day is skipped, the box is drawn in a dimmed colour and the reason is written next to it.

5. STRATEGY 3: RSI STOCH REVERSAL

A counter-trend entry on the chart timeframe.

- Setup: a candle closes with RSI and Stochastic both overbought (default RSI 70 and Stochastic 80) or both oversold (RSI 30 and Stochastic 20).

- Entry: on the reversal confirmation candle, within a set number of candles (default 10). Overbought leads to a sell, oversold to a buy.

- Stop loss: beyond the highest or lowest price of the setup plus a buffer (default 50 points). You can set a maximum stop distance; a setup that needs a wider stop is skipped.

- Take profit: the opposite Bollinger Band at the time of entry. If the band cannot be used, the take profit is the stop distance multiplied by a factor (default 1.5).

- Trailing: starts at a percentage of the take profit distance (default 25%) and follows at a percentage of that distance (default 20%).

6. THE MANUAL PANEL

The panel works the same way as in Burning Teko Trading Companion:

- Equity, floating P/L, server time and local time.

- Lot Size, SL, TP and FH Dist boxes with + and - buttons.

- BUY, SELL, HEDGE, BUY STOP, SELL STOP, BUY LIMIT, SELL LIMIT, Close Pending.

- Floating Hedge: a pending hedge order that follows the price each time you click it.

- Trailing Stop, Close Buy, Close Sell, Close All, Delete SL/TP.

- A position list with a Close button on every position. The comment shows which strategy opened it.

A detailed description of every button is in the Trading Companion guide: https://www.mql5.com/en/blogs/post/776375

7. TRADING SUMMARY

The Info button opens a summary of the closed trades since the EA was started: trades, wins, losses, win rate and net P/L for each strategy and for manual trades.

8. CHART TOOLS

- MA 200, EMA 20 and Bollinger Bands on the chart, and an RSI + Stochastic window with 30 and 70 levels.

- Woodie Pivot Points drawn by the EA: P in blue, resistance in red, support in green, with a price label next to the current candle.

- Session range boxes for Asia, London and the previous day.

- Session lines for the open and close of Tokyo, London and New York.

- Swing lines: the nearest swing high and swing low.

- Multi-timeframe table (M1 to D1) with RSI, Stochastic and trend.

Every tool can be switched off in the inputs. No extra indicator files are needed.

9. SESSION HOURS AND SERVER TIME

All hours in the inputs are broker SERVER time. The defaults fit a server on GMT+3. If your broker uses another time zone, shift the Asia and London range hours, the expiry hours and the session line hours by the difference. In the Strategy Tester, set "Server time = GMT+" so the local clock on the panel is correct.

10. RISK CONTROLS

- Free margin is checked before every automatic order. If it is not enough, the trade is skipped.

- The lot is normalised to the broker's minimum, maximum and step.

- Every automatic trade has a stop loss.

- Stop loss changes respect the broker's stops level and freeze level, and no orders are sent while the trading session of the symbol is closed.

11. BACKTESTING TIPS

- Use "Every tick" or "Every tick based on real ticks" on XAUUSD M15.

- Visual mode with the panel ON lets you watch the setups and change settings during the test. Without Visual mode the EA skips all drawing and runs much faster.

- Optional Excel report: set "Create an Excel report when a backtest ends" to true. The file is written to a subfolder of the terminal's Common\Files folder.

- Test one strategy at a time first (switch the other two OFF in the inputs) to see how each one behaves on your broker's data.

12. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

- I do not see the panel. Set "Show the trading panel on the chart" to true. In the tester, Visual mode must be on.

- A range is drawn but no pending orders appear. Read the text next to the range: the day was skipped because the range was too small, too big, or the price was already outside the range.

- The EA does not open a trade. Check that Algo Trading is allowed, that the strategy is ON, and that there is enough free margin for the lot.

- The session boxes are at the wrong hours. Adjust the hours to your broker's server time (section 9).

Risk warning: trading gold and other leveraged instruments involves a high risk of loss. This Expert Advisor does not guarantee any profit. Backtest results cover a limited period and do not guarantee future results. Test on a demo account first and only trade with money you can afford to lose.
