MNI's monthly business sentiment indicator for China
In June +9% m/m to 54.5 (a big jump from May's 50 & April at 50.5)
June's result is more than 5% higher than the average over the past 12 months
MNI commentary on today's result:
- Business Sentiment Indicator at the highest since October 2015
- Average confidence over Q2 at 51.7 (from 50.7 in Q1)
- Underlying components showed measures of output and demand remaining sluggish
- Growing divide between real activity and monetary conditions
- Production declined 2% on the month to 54.7
- New Orders managed a 0.7% rise to 55.0
- Interest rate companies paid plunged, the Interest Rates Paid Indicator back at the historically low level reached earlier in the year at 37.9
