G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bankers are Meeting this Weekend in Japan

  • European shares opened higher this morning supported by a rebound in the oil price and as fears of a Summer Fed rate hike eased. Most European indices trade ca. 1% higher. US equities opened in positive territory too, gaining 0.5%.

  • There is no disorderly trading in the yen that would justify intervention, a senior US Treasury official said, speaking in Sendai where G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bankers are meeting.

  • British factory orders rose this month at the fastest pace since the end of last year and overall output rose at the strongest pace since August, figures from the CBI said, suggesting that the referendum is not weighing to heavily on demand.

  • G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bankers are meeting this weekend in Japan and will work on plans to improve global coordination on cybersecurity.
