In effort to destroy the economy of Great Britain in 1940s, the Nazi government flooded it with counterfeit pounds in large quantity. The fake banknotes were printed by prisoners of forced labor camps in Auschwitz and Sachsenhausen. However, the secret Nazi plan was brought to light and the whole amount of forged banknotes was withdrawn.
