High Time Frame Relative Strength Index is a unique, causal indicator that displays the instantaneous, high-resolution evolution of up to three higher-timeframe RSI curves inside the current lower-timeframe chart. Unlike conventional multi-timeframe indicators, which repeat a single completed RSI value as a stepped line throughout the entire higher-timeframe bar, this indicator calculates how the higher-timeframe RSI actually develops bar by bar. It therefore preserves information that is normally hidden between successive HTF closings and makes changes in RSI direction, strength, and overbought or oversold conditions visible much earlier.
The calculation retains the completed Wilder RSI state from the preceding higher-timeframe bar and continuously evaluates the developing HTF value using the price available at each lower-timeframe bar. When the higher-timeframe bar closes, its final value becomes the next recursive state. The calculation is completely causal: no future higher-timeframe value is projected backward, and closed lower-timeframe values do not repaint.
Up to three HTF RSI curves may be displayed simultaneously, each with its own RSI period and colour. The higher periods can be selected from the standard MT4 timeframes—including M30, H1, H4, Daily, Weekly and Monthly—or constructed from custom chart-period multipliers. Optional dots mark the genuine completed HTF values, while the step mode carries the last completed value forward as a conventional causal reference.
The information panel displays each RSI value, direction, market zone, percentage of the current HTF bar completed, and previous completed value. It also summarizes multi-timeframe bullish or bearish alignment, displays the current chart RSI, and identifies the nearest HTF RSI level. These relationships can be especially useful because higher-timeframe RSI curves frequently behave as dynamic support or resistance for the lower-timeframe RSI.
IMPORTANT: The selected higher timeframes must be larger than the current chart timeframe. Because the RSI calculation is recursive, sufficient historical price data is required, particularly when long RSI periods or very high timeframes are used. If the available history is insufficient, the indicator clearly reports that the corresponding RSI stream is still warming up.
