Discipline Guard by Soecke

Discipline Guard is an interactive MetaTrader 5 utility for discretionary trade planning, daily discipline rules and optional position management. It runs as an Expert Advisor on a chart, but it does not generate signals or autonomously choose entries. New orders require the user's explicit confirmation.
Daily check-in and trading contract
Record focus, calmness, financial pressure and acceptance of a no-trade day.
Review the daily risk, loss, trade-count, cooldown and session settings before
locking the plan. The saved contract remains locked until its daily reset in
broker server time. An optional reduced mental profile applies stricter rules
when its score conditions are met. Self-assessment is not a psychological diagnosis.
Chart planning and confirmed execution
Create a long or short plan and move Entry, Stop Loss (SL) and Take Profit (TP). The panel calculates estimated stop-loss risk, volume and reward-to-risk ratio. Volume is rounded down to the broker's lot step. Order Review fixes a money risk cap and recalculates volume when entry or stop prices change. Market, Limit and Stop submissions require confirmation, permissions and current account checks.
Position management
For an eligible position, use partial close, break even, trailing stop and staged take profit. Break even (BE) moves a stop toward entry plus the configured offset; it does not guarantee a cost-free exit. Review target and protection settings in the panel or with chart lines, then explicitly apply changes. Editing alone does not submit a trading request.
The first and second take-profit stages close percentages of baseline volume; the third closes the remainder. Prices and close percentages are separate settings. Newly tracked positions start with automation modes off. Saved modes persist after restart. Eligible manual positions can be adopted after explicit consent; adoption preserves their broker stops and starts automation modes off.
Observed behavior and stop review
Review blocked submission attempts, rapid re-entry, risk increases and observed stop-loss changes. Daily and seven-day views distinguish missing observations from zero-event days. Export records as comma-separated values (CSV) files. The stop observer reports changes; it does not restore stops or close positions.
Workspace
The floating panel has Trade, Positions, Discipline and Review tabs, a compact view and eight chart themes. Different symbols can run in parallel within shared daily rules. One eligible position is managed per symbol. Charts coordinate within the same terminal and data folder, not across separate terminals/devices.
Before use
Execution is disabled by default. Start on a demo account and inspect Setup. Setup reviews current configuration; it does not enable live trading. Choose the appropriate execution input and enable terminal, Expert Advisor and account permissions for trade actions. Complete the check-in and daily contract before planning a new Guard order. Reset and session schedules use broker server time.
Important limitations
- A Guard lock blocks new entries through this utility, not manual/mobile trades, other Expert Advisors or activation of existing pending orders.
- Stop trading applies an entry lock; it does not directly close positions or cancel pending orders. Close all is a separate confirmed account-wide action. It does not itself create a manual lock, but normal loss-limit rules still apply.
- Staged take profit, break even and trailing run in the terminal. MetaTrader 5 must stay running and connected with permission. Existing broker stops remain at the broker during downtime. Three target lines are not three broker orders.
- Estimated risk excludes commissions, gaps and slippage. No maximum-loss or profit guarantee is provided. The utility does not determine market direction.
- Manual adoption requires eligible history and a protective loss-side stop. Other-Expert-Advisor positions, mixed netting exposure and reversals are excluded.
- Changes between observations or during downtime can be missed. Data are local; there is no cloud synchronization or tamper-proof account lock.
- Build 1.55 does not yet have separate netting/hedging demo coverage or reproduced uncertain broker responses on demo. Test your broker and account configuration.
Support
Use the product comments or MQL5 messaging. Include the product/terminal build, symbol, server time, exact message and redacted Experts/Journal excerpts. Do not send account passwords or credentials. Trading decisions and supervision remain the user's responsibility.
