The EA uses a multi-timeframe trading approach that combines H4 market regime analysis, H1 trend and pullback detection, and M15 price-structure confirmation.

GoldVanta MT4 waits for the required market conditions to align before considering an entry. Position sizing and trade management are handled according to the selected risk settings.

GoldVanta MT4 is not designed to trade every day. The EA follows a selective trading approach and waits until its required market conditions are met. During choppy, unclear, or unsuitable market conditions, it may remain inactive for extended periods. Fewer trades are a normal part of the strategy.

Trading Approach

GoldVanta MT4 analyzes XAUUSD through three main timeframes.

H4 Market Regime

The H4 timeframe is used to evaluate the broader market environment. The analysis includes:

  • EMA 50 and EMA 200
  • EMA separation
  • EMA slope
  • ADX
  • +DI and -DI

These conditions are used to determine the current directional regime.

H1 Trend Alignment

After identifying the H4 regime, the EA checks H1 conditions using:

  • EMA 20
  • EMA 50
  • Current price position

This provides an additional trend-alignment filter before a trading setup can proceed.

H1 Pullback

GoldVanta MT4 does not enter immediately after detecting a trend.

The EA waits for a pullback toward the H1 EMA 20 or EMA 50 area while checking that the underlying trend conditions remain valid.

M15 Structure Break

After a qualifying pullback, the EA monitors M15 price structure.

A trade can be considered when the required swing structure is broken and the configured momentum conditions are satisfied.

The general process is:

H4 Regime → H1 Alignment → H1 Pullback → M15 Structure Break → Entry

Trade Management

GoldVanta MT4 includes several trade-management functions:

  • Broker-side Stop Loss
  • Reward-to-risk based Take Profit
  • Break-even management
  • ATR-based trailing stop
  • Percentage-based position sizing
  • Fixed Lot mode
  • Maximum lot restriction
  • Spread filter
  • Daily loss protection
  • Maximum equity drawdown protection

The standard configuration uses a 3.0R Take Profit.

Break-even can be activated after the trade reaches the configured profit level, and ATR-based trailing can be used to manage the position as the market moves.

All trade-management parameters are configurable.

Risk Settings

The included starting profiles use:

Safe

  • 0.5% risk per trade

Low

  • 0.75% risk per trade

Middle

  • 1% risk per trade

High

  • 2% risk per trade

Aggressive

  • 3% risk per trade

The default profile is Middle (1%).

A Fixed Lot mode is also available for users who prefer to specify position size manually.

Risk settings should be selected according to account size, leverage, broker conditions, and individual risk tolerance.

Trading Filters

GoldVanta MT4 includes configurable controls for trade execution, including:

  • Trading session filter
  • Spread filter
  • Entry-hour filter
  • Friday entry cutoff
  • Daily loss limit
  • Maximum equity drawdown limit

The standard session configuration uses 07:00–19:00 GMT, with additional time restrictions available through the EA inputs.

Recommended Setup

Symbol: XAUUSD
Timeframe: M15

GoldVanta MT4 uses H4, H1, and M15 data internally.

For normal operation, sufficient historical data for these timeframes should be available in MetaTrader 5.

Broker symbol names and XAUUSD contract specifications can differ. Users should check the symbol specifications provided by their broker.

Strategy Tester

For detailed strategy evaluation, the following MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester configuration is recommended:

Testing should use the intended broker's historical data and trading conditions where possible.
