What This Is
Aurum Cadence is a fully rule-based, non-discretionary Expert Advisor for gold (XAU/USD) on the M15 timeframe. It combines an EMA crossover entry signal with an RSI momentum filter, sized and managed through ATR-based position sizing and stop/target placement. Built in additional safeguards include a volatility filter that skips entries during unusually quiet periods, a daily loss limit, and a weekend-gap guard that avoids opening new positions too close to the weekly market close.
This EA does not promise guaranteed profits — no legitimate trading system can. What it offers is a disciplined, risk-managed approach with a transparent, honestly-reported testing history.
This Is Not a Get-Rich-Quick Scheme
Nothing in this listing should be read as a promise of fast, easy, or guaranteed returns.
- The results below show a modest, realistic edge — a win rate a few points above breakeven, not a system that wins every trade or avoids losing streaks. Losing trades, and losing weeks, are a normal, expected part of how this operates, even when working exactly as designed.
- If you're looking for a shortcut to fast wealth, this isn't it — and you should be skeptical of any trading product, mine or anyone else's, that claims otherwise.
- This is a tested, transparent, risk-managed tool for your own trading decisions — not a promise about your financial outcome.
How It Was Built and Tested
- In-sample optimization — parameters were tuned on one historical period.
- Out-of-sample validation — tested on a later, separate period the optimizer never saw, to guard against simply fitting noise.
- Sensitivity check — nearby parameter combinations were tested to confirm results didn't depend on one fragile, precisely-tuned point.
- Monte Carlo resampling — the actual sequence of historical trades was reshuffled thousands of times to understand the realistic range of drawdown this strategy can produce.
Important limitation, stated plainly: all testing was performed specifically on IG's XAUUSD(£) spread-bet contract, M15. The EA's position sizing automatically adapts to any broker/instrument, but the specific tuned values (EMA lengths, ATR multiples) were fit to this contract's historical behavior. Performance on a different broker's gold contract has not been separately validated and may differ.
Compatibility with other timeframes, instruments, and account types
This EA will run on any timeframe, instrument, or account type (hedging or netting) — it does not artificially restrict itself. Two things worth understanding clearly about what that does and doesn't mean:
- A hard safety cap limits every single position to a conservative maximum share of your account's free margin, regardless of what timeframe or instrument it's running on. This is specifically designed to prevent an oversized, account-threatening position even in conditions far outside what this EA was tuned for.
- That safety cap is about preventing catastrophic loss, not about good performance. Only M15 gold on IG has gone through the full testing process described above. Running this on a different timeframe, instrument, or account type means you're using a configuration that hasn't been tuned or validated at all — it should behave safely, but there's no basis to expect it will trade well there. If you want to use this outside M15 gold, treat it as an untested starting point, and validate it yourself (or ask me) before relying on it.
Backtest Results — Out-of-Sample (Previously Unseen Data)
- Period: 2026.05.01 → 2026.07.26. Specifically chosen as data the optimizer had never seen, since it was tuned on the earlier 2025.12.07 → 2026.04.30 in-sample window instead.
- 92 trades, 50.0% win rate — against a required breakeven win rate of ~39.1% at this strategy's reward:risk ratio
- Net result: +4.98% over the test period
- This is historical simulation, not a guarantee of future results.
Live Demo Forward-Test Results
- Running on a live IG demo account (not real money) since [insert start date]
- As of 01.08.2026: 35 trades, 45.7% win rate, net +£167.16 on a £3,000 starting balance (+5.57%)
- A formal statistical check confirms this is fully consistent with the backtested win rate — well within normal variance, not a sign of drift
- This is demo performance, not real-money trading results. No live real-money track record currently exists for this configuration.
- Figures updated periodically — not a static, one-time snapshot.
Ongoing Development & Community Feedback
This EA is actively maintained:
- Feedback, questions, and reports of unexpected behavior are welcomed via reviews and comments.
- Changes go through the same testing discipline described above — in-sample/out-of-sample validation, sensitivity checks — before release, rather than reacting to a single trade or short losing streak. Reactive tweaking is a common way trading systems quietly get worse, not better.
- Version changes and the reasoning behind them are documented in the changelog — not just what changed, but why.
- Genuine, repeatable issues surfaced by users are investigated properly; isolated bad outcomes are not chased with immediate changes.
Risk Disclosure
- Trading leveraged products (spread betting/CFDs) carries a high level of risk and can result in losses exceeding your deposited funds, depending on your account type and leverage.
- Past performance, backtested or demo, does not guarantee future results.
- This EA is a tool for your own independent trading decisions. It is not financial or investment advice, and you remain fully responsible for your own account and decisions.
- This EA includes a hard cap limiting any single position to a conservative share of free margin, specifically to prevent outsized, account-threatening trades. This is a safety backstop, not a substitute for using this EA within its tested and validated conditions (M15, gold, as described above).
- A rental option is available so you can test this EA on your own broker and account conditions before committing to a full purchase — given the single-broker validation above, this is genuinely the recommended way to start.
