By isolating the price movement from open to close, traders can more easily identify the underlying strength and conviction behind market trends, filtering out the noise often created by candle wicks (shadows).

The Body Focus Candles indicator is designed to give you a clearer, more decisive view of market sentiment. It visually distinguishes between normal price movements, strong momentum-driven moves, and periods of indecision, all within a customizable and user-friendly interface.

Key Features

• Dual Visualization Modes:

  • Body Only Mode: Strips away the wicks to show you the pure price displacement from open to close. This is excellent for identifying the true trend and momentum without the distraction of intraday volatility.

  • Full Candle Mode: Displays traditional candles but with the enhanced coloring scheme, allowing you to benefit from the advanced analysis while still seeing the full price range.

• Advanced Multi-Color System: Candles are colored based on their characteristics, allowing for instant market analysis:

  • Bullish/Bearish: Standard colors for up and down candles.

  • Strong Bullish/Bearish: A distinct color for candles where the body makes up a significant percentage (user-defined) of the total candle range, indicating strong momentum.

  • Doji: A neutral color for candles with a very small body, highlighting market indecision.

• Integrated Trend and Volatility Analysis:

  • Trend Line: An optional moving average is plotted directly on the indicator window to provide a clear reference for the current trend direction.

  • On-Screen Statistics Panel: A comprehensive dashboard provides real-time data at a glance, including:

    • Current display mode (Body Only / Full Candles).

    • Average body size over the last 20 periods (in points).

    • The body-to-range ratio of the most recent candle.

    • Current trend direction (Bullish/Bearish/Neutral) based on the MA.

    • Market volatility, measured by ATR(14).

    • Basic candlestick pattern detection (e.g., Engulfing, Three Bulls/Bears, Doji, Pin Bar).

• Momentum Alerts: Receive automatic alerts when a user-defined number of consecutive "strong" momentum candles appear, ensuring you never miss a potential breakout or trend continuation.

• High Degree of Customization: Nearly every aspect of the indicator can be tailored to your trading style. Adjust colors, trend periods, thresholds for what defines a "strong" move or a "doji," and toggle any feature on or off.

How to Use

The Body Focus Candles indicator is versatile and can be used in several ways:

1. Trend Confirmation: Look for a series of "Strong Bullish" or "Strong Bearish" candles to confirm the strength of a trend.

2. Noise Reduction: In choppy or sideways markets, switch to "Body Only" mode to see if there is any underlying directional bias.

3. Reversal Spotting: A strong engulfing candle, highlighted by the indicator's "strong" color, appearing after a prolonged trend can signal a potential reversal.

4. Entry/Exit Signals: Use the momentum alerts to signal potential entries during breakouts or to consider taking profit when momentum appears to be accelerating.

5. Confluence: Use the statistics panel to quickly verify that the trend, volatility, and recent candle patterns align with your trading idea.

Input Parameters

• Display Settings:

  • Show Candle Shadows : true/false - Toggles between full candles and body-only view.

  • Show Trend Line : true/false - Toggles the visibility of the moving average trend line.

  • Trend Line Period : Sets the calculation period for the moving average.

• Color Settings:

  • Customize the color for each of the five candle types (Bullish, Bearish, Doji, Strong Bullish, Strong Bearish).

• Analysis Settings:

  • Body Percentage for Strong Move (%) : Sets the threshold for a candle to be considered "strong." For example, a value of 70 means the body must be at least 70% of the total high-to-low range.

  • Doji Body Threshold (%) : Sets the maximum body size (as a percentage of the candle range) for a candle to be classified as a Doji.

  • Show Statistics Panel : true/false - Toggles the visibility of the on-screen data panel.

• Alert Settings:

  • Enable Alerts : true/false - Turns the alert functionality on or off.

  • Consecutive Strong Bodies for Alert : Sets how many consecutive strong candles must appear before an alert is triggered.
