Gold M15 Breakout Expert
Gold M15 Breakout Expert is an automated trading system developed specifically for Gold (XAUUSD) on the M15 timeframe.
The Expert Advisor is designed to identify price breakouts from recent market ranges and trade in the direction of momentum. Unlike mean-reversion systems, this strategy looks for situations where price escapes an established range and may continue moving in the breakout direction.
STRATEGY LOGIC
The EA analyzes completed M15 candles and calculates a dynamic price channel using recent market highs and lows.
Default Breakout Lookback: 20 candles
BUY LOGIC
A potential BUY setup occurs when:
- A completed M15 candle closes above the recent breakout channel.
- The breakout candle itself is excluded from the channel calculation.
- The optional EMA trend filter confirms bullish market direction.
- Spread and trading conditions are within the configured limits.
- Risk protection conditions allow a new trade.
SELL LOGIC
A potential SELL setup occurs when:
- A completed M15 candle closes below the recent breakout channel.
- The breakout candle itself is excluded from the channel calculation.
- The optional EMA trend filter confirms bearish market direction.
- Spread and trading conditions are within the configured limits.
- Risk protection conditions allow a new trade.
TREND FILTER
The EA includes an optional EMA trend filter to help avoid trading against the broader market direction.
Default settings:
Fast EMA: 50
Slow EMA: 200
For BUY trades:
Fast EMA must be above Slow EMA.
For SELL trades:
Fast EMA must be below Slow EMA.
The trend filter can be disabled from the EA inputs.
STOP LOSS
Stop Loss is calculated dynamically using Average True Range (ATR).
Default settings:
ATR Period: 14
ATR Stop Multiplier: 1.80
This allows the Stop Loss distance to adapt to changing Gold volatility instead of using a fixed number of points.
TAKE PROFIT
Take Profit is calculated using a configurable Risk/Reward Ratio.
Default Risk/Reward Ratio: 2.00
With the default configuration, the Take Profit distance is approximately twice the initial Stop Loss distance.
RISK MANAGEMENT
Gold M15 Breakout Expert includes automatic risk-based position sizing.
Default Risk Per Trade: 0.50%
The EA calculates the position size according to account equity and Stop Loss distance.
The user can also disable automatic risk calculation and use a fixed lot size.

- Maximum spread filter
- Margin availability check
- Broker minimum Stop Level protection
- Freeze Level protection
- Maximum trades per day
- Cooldown period between trades
- Daily realized loss protection
- Single EA position control
DAILY PROTECTION
Default Maximum Trades Per Day: 3
Default Cooldown Between Trades: 60 minutes
Default Maximum Daily Loss: 3%
When the configured daily realized loss limit is reached, the EA stops opening new positions for the remainder of that broker trading day.
TRADING SESSION FILTER
The EA includes an optional trading session filter based on broker/server time.
Default:
Start Hour: 07:00
End Hour: 20:00
These values can be changed by the user according to the broker and preferred trading hours.
