Adaptive Regime Scalper is an Expert Advisor for gold on the M1
timeframe. Its purpose is to keep one Stochastic entry method usable
across different market conditions by adapting the filters instead of
using one fixed rule set.
How it works
On every completed bar the Expert Advisor calculates a regime score
from two independent measurements: the ratio of current ATR to its own
long average, and Wilder-smoothed ADX. The score is averaged over
several bars and mapped to one of three regimes: sideway, trending or
strong. Each regime has its own overbought and oversold entry levels
and its own minimum ADX value. The same Stochastic signal can
therefore be accepted in a trend and rejected in a quiet range.
Entry conditions
A trade is considered when the Stochastic main and signal lines cross.
The cross is read from closed bars only and the order is sent at the
open of the next bar, so the signal does not repaint. An optional
confirmation bar can be required after the cross. The signal then has
to pass a fast EMA direction filter, an EMA 200 trend filter and the
minimum ADX value of the current regime.
Exit conditions
Each position is opened with a stop loss and a take profit placed on
the broker side. A position is also closed when an opposite signal
appears, when volatility contracts during a sideway phase, or by the
profit harvest rule, which closes a position that is already in profit
once Stochastic reaches an extreme value.
Risk handling
The Expert Advisor does not use grid, martingale or averaging into
losing positions. Every position has its own stop loss from the moment
it is opened. The number of stacked positions per direction is limited
by an input. Before an order is sent the volume is compared with the
free margin of the account and reduced if necessary; if even the
minimum volume does not fit, the signal is skipped.
Optional modules, all disabled by default: ATR based automatic stop
loss and take profit, risk percent position sizing, break even,
trailing stop, session and weekend filters, and an on-chart panel.
Test results
The figures below come from the Strategy Tester and are not results of
real trading. This product does not have a live trading record yet.

The Expert Advisor closes fewer than half of its trades in profit. The
result comes from the average winning trade being larger than the
average losing trade, so losing sequences are part of normal operation
and the outcome should be judged over months rather than days.
On a shorter and more recent window, from 2 March 2026 to 14 July 2026
with the same settings, the profit factor was 1.60 over 345 trades.
Contract size
All figures above were produced on a gold symbol with a contract size
of 1 oz per lot, a minimum volume of 0.1 lot, and 0.20 lot per signal,
which is 0.2 oz of exposure per position.
A standard XAUUSD contract is 100 oz per lot, so the same volume value
gives one hundred times more exposure. On a standard contract the
volume input has to be divided by 100 to reproduce the tested risk.
Note that the usual standard-contract minimum of 0.01 lot equals 1 oz,
which is still five times the tested exposure per position, so the
deposit has to be sized for that.

Specification in the symbol context menu.
Presets
Three preset files are included. All three were measured over the same
period, symbol and volume as the table above.
Default profit factor 1.38, net 946 USD, drawdown 145 USD,
41.4 percent profitable, 1 239 trades. This preset
matches the built-in default inputs.
Conservative profit factor 1.23, net 555 USD, drawdown 96 USD,
47.8 percent profitable, 1 360 trades. The lowest
drawdown and the highest share of profitable trades
of the three.
Aggressive profit factor 1.43, net 1 098 USD, drawdown 187 USD,
42.4 percent profitable, 1 303 trades. The highest
profit factor and also the deepest drawdown.
In testing a higher return was always accompanied by a deeper
drawdown, so the preset should be chosen according to the drawdown
that the account can carry.
Suggested minimum deposit
Based on the maximal drawdown of 144.83 USD measured at 0.2 oz of
exposure, and given that drawdown scales with exposure:
micro contract, 0.20 lot, 0.2 oz from 1 000 USD
standard contract, 0.01 lot, 1 oz from 5 000 USD
Requirements and limitations
A hedging account is recommended, because the Expert Advisor opens
separate positions for consecutive signals. On a netting account it
limits itself to a single position and writes a note in the journal.
The default inputs are prepared for gold on M1. All inputs expressed
in points are scaled to the price of gold, so a different instrument
requires those values to be recalculated and tested again.
There is one market condition in which the tested settings do not
perform well: a slow upward drift with ADX around 30 to 40 and
compressed volatility. In that phase the result was close to break
even or slightly negative. Reducing the volume or pausing the Expert
Advisor during such a phase is advisable.
A low spread, a stable connection and a VPS are recommended for an M1
system. Because spread and execution differ between brokers, the
Expert Advisor should be tested on your own broker data before it is
used on a live account.
