TPS (Trend Pullback System) is an MQL5 Expert Advisor designed to exploit one of the most consistent behaviors in trend trading: the resumption of a trend after a pullback.
Its philosophy is straightforward: don't chase price or try to guess reversals, but wait for an already established trend to offer a quality pullback and trade only when the market confirms it wants to resume its direction.
Far from seeking random moves, TPS relies on a widely documented principle —buying weakness within an uptrend and selling strength within a downtrend— and is especially effective on instruments with strong, well-defined trends and good continuity, such as NASDAQ100.
Trend confirmation across multiple timeframes
Before considering any trade, TPS requires the trend to be aligned. It evaluates context on the working timeframe —direction and slope of the trend moving average— and can additionally require agreement from a higher timeframe, so it only trades when the underlying structure and the short term point in the same direction.
This rules out counter-trend entries and likely reversal contexts from the start.
Quality-filtered pullbacks
Not every pullback is an opportunity. The system measures the depth of each pullback relative to the prior move and compares it against real-time volatility, accepting only corrections within an objective band: neither so shallow that they are mere noise, nor so deep that they signal a trend change.
Only when the pullback reaches the value zone and price shows genuine intent to continue is an entry enabled.
Two configurable entry modes
TPS offers two ways to execute a trade:
- Market entry, when price reclaims the value zone and confirms the trend resumption.
- Pending order entry, which only triggers if price breaks in the trend's direction beyond the pullback bar, requiring an additional confirmation of continuation.
You decide the style that best fits the way you trade.
Professional risk management
TPS includes a complete set of money-management tools to adapt to different trader profiles.
Its main features include:
- Structural Stop Loss using fractals.
- Volatility-based Stop Loss (ATR).
- Position sizing by fixed lot or by risk percentage (on balance or on a fixed base capital).
- Hard risk cap per trade, which blocks any entry whose real risk exceeds your tolerance.
- Automatic Break-Even.
- Adaptive Trailing Stop.
- Gap protection.
- Trading-session time filter.
- Automatic close daily and before the weekend.
Every trade knows exactly how much it risks before entering the market.
Adaptable to volatility and different markets
The entire mechanics of the system —pullback depth, Stop Loss distances, Break-Even activation, Trailing and filters— are calculated on real-time volatility through ATR.
This keeps behavior consistent whether the market speeds up or calms down, and makes it easy to adapt to instruments of different character while always respecting the system's original philosophy.
Full transparency
All of the system's decisions are calculated exclusively on closed candles.
This means:
- It uses no Look-Ahead Bias.
- It does not repaint signals (No Repaint).
- Backtesting results are consistent with real-time trading.
Transparency and reproducibility have been part of the Expert Advisor's design from the outset.
Professional validation
TPS ships with a ready-to-trade configuration for NASDAQ100 (M15), developed through a serious validation process: selection In-Sample, confirmation on Out-of-Sample data, and a final test over an unseen period (Forward).
This approach aims for real robustness, not an over-optimized backtest.
Rules-based design, not opinions
TPS does not try to predict the market.
It simply waits for an established trend to offer a valid pullback and executes the strategy following objective, repeatable and fully automated rules.
Its strength lies in the discipline of execution and in exploiting a known statistical behavior of the market.
