Nexus Adaptive Trend Indicator
Most trend indicators fail traders in one specific way: they use a fixed sensitivity setting that works well in one market condition and breaks down completely in another. A multiplier that performs in a quiet London session becomes useless during a volatile New York open. Traders are left constantly adjusting settings or ignoring signals they cannot trust.
Nexus Adaptive Trend Indicator solves this problem at its core.
What Makes This Indicator Different
The foundation of Nexus is a K-Means machine learning algorithm that runs silently on every bar. It analyses the last 100 ATR readings and classifies current market volatility into three distinct regimes: low, medium, and high. The SuperTrend multiplier then self-selects the appropriate sensitivity for the current regime automatically. In calm conditions the bands tighten, giving precise entries. In volatile conditions the bands widen, avoiding premature exits. No manual adjustment is ever needed.
On top of this adaptive engine sits a three-layer confluence system. A signal arrow is only painted when the SuperTrend direction changes AND an unmitigated Order Block zone is present near price AND a Fair Value Gap exists in the same area. Each condition contributes to a confluence score from 0 to 100. Only signals that meet the minimum score threshold are shown. Noise is filtered out before it reaches the chart.
An optional session filter adds additional weight to signals that occur during the London open and New York open kill zones, where institutional order flow is at its highest and signal quality is demonstrably superior.
The result is a small number of clean, high-conviction signals rather than a chart full of arrows that contradict each other.
What You See On The Chart
The SuperTrend line runs continuously below price in green during an uptrend and above price in red during a downtrend. When the line changes color a potential signal is evaluated. If the confluence score is met a teal arrow appears for a buy setup or an amber arrow for a sell setup.
A compact dashboard in the top right corner shows six pieces of live information: current trend direction, volatility regime, confluence score with a visual bar, session status, the current stop loss level, and total signal count. Everything updates on every bar close.
When a signal fires, a dashed horizontal line is drawn automatically at the stop loss level so the trader knows exactly where the position is invalidated before placing the trade.
Clear Rules For Every Trade
Buy setup: teal arrow appears on a closed bar, green SuperTrend line is active, confluence score meets threshold. Enter at the open of the following bar. Stop loss below the green SuperTrend line. First target at two times the stop loss distance. Trail the remainder with the SuperTrend line and close when it turns red.
Sell setup: amber arrow appears on a closed bar, red SuperTrend line is active, confluence score meets threshold. Enter at the open of the following bar. Stop loss above the red SuperTrend line. Same target and trail logic in reverse.
Exit immediately if the SuperTrend line changes color before the target is reached.
There is no ambiguity. Every trade has a defined entry bar, a defined stop level, and a defined exit condition.
No Repainting
Signals are calculated exclusively on the last fully closed bar. Once a bar closes and a signal is or is not painted, that result never changes. The indicator does not look back and repaint historical arrows. What you see in live trading is identical to what you see on the historical chart.
Alerts
The indicator supports three alert types simultaneously: on-chart pop-up, sound alert with customisable WAV files for buy and sell signals separately, and push notification to the MetaTrader mobile application. Alerts fire once per signal on the closing bar so there is no repeated triggering on the same event.
Recommended Setup
- Timeframes: M15 and H1 for intraday trading. H4 for swing positions.
- Instruments: performs best on liquid major and minor forex pairs. Tested on EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, and XAUUSD.
- Starting configuration: keep the default minimum score of 55 during initial use. Once familiar with the signal behavior raise it to 65 or above to see only the highest confluence setups.
Input Parameters
- ATR Period: period for ATR volatility calculation. Default 14.
- ML Lookback: bars used to train the K-Means volatility classifier. Default 100.
- ML Iterations: K-Means convergence iterations. Default 10.
- OB Lookback: bars to scan backward for Order Block zones. Default 50.
- FVG Lookback: bars to scan backward for Fair Value Gaps. Default 30.
- Use Session Filter: adds score weighting for London and New York kill zone bars. Default true.
- Min Score: minimum confluence score to display a signal. Range 0 to 100. Default 55.
- Show SL Line: draws a horizontal stop loss reference line on signal. Default true.
- Buy Color: arrow color for buy signals. Default teal.
- Sell Color: arrow color for sell signals. Default amber.
- Bull Line Color: SuperTrend line color during uptrend. Default lime green.
- Bear Line Color: SuperTrend line color during downtrend. Default red.
- Show Dashboard: shows or hides the information panel. Default true.
- Enable Popup: pop-up alert on signal. Default true.
- Enable Sound: sound alert on signal. Default true.
- Enable Push: push notification to MetaTrader mobile app. Default false.
- Buy Sound: WAV filename for buy alert. Place file in MT4 Sounds folder.

Notes
The indicator requires a minimum of ATR Period plus ML Lookback plus 5 bars of history before calculations begin. On a fresh chart scroll left to load sufficient history. The lines and dashboard will appear once enough bars are available.
