How it works

• Session filter: trades only during the gold session hours where the breakout edge historically concentrates.
• Breakout trigger: enters long when price breaks the high of a defined volatility range, confirming momentum instead of guessing reversals.
• Hard risk: a fixed stop loss on every trade. No martingale recovery, no grid.
• Defined exit: profit target plus a time-based exit, so positions never linger.

Why this design

Most gold EAs that sell on hype are grid or martingale systems that show smooth curves until they don't. Aurum Breakout is deliberately the transparent alternative: one pair, one timeframe, one position, auditable logic.

Honest performance

Out-of-sample backtest 2019-2026 (7+ years) on XAUUSD H1:

• Profit Factor 1.35
• 496 trades, 57% win rate
• Net +10,324 USD, max drawdown 4,172 USD (on a 25,000 USD account)

The strategy was built and optimized on 2009-2019 data and tested forward on 2019-2026, so this curve is genuinely out-of-sample, not the optimization window.

Be aware: drawdown is meaningful. This is a breakout system on gold, so expect equity swings (max drawdown around 4,200 USD). Size conservatively. This is a backtest, not a live track record yet, so please test on a demo account first.

Requirements

• MetaTrader 5 with an XAUUSD (Gold) H1 chart.
• A broker with competitive gold spreads. A VPS is recommended for 24/5 operation.
