DRAGON ROLL — Alternating Hedge Engine for XAUUSD (MT5, hedging accounts)
Dragon Roll is a rolling hedge system built for the fast, two-sided movement of gold. Instead of guessing direction, it places the opposite stop order after every fill, so the basket is always positioned for the next breakout. The first take-profit hit closes the entire basket and the next cycle starts in the direction that just won.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Seed — AUTO mode opens Layer 1 (BUY or SELL, your choice). In MANUAL mode you open the first trade yourself and the EA adopts it.
2. Roll — every filled layer arms the opposite STOP order at the roll distance (BUY STOP above, SELL STOP below).
3. Scale — Layer 2-4 grow with the Stage 1 multiplier (default x3); Layer 5 and above use the Stage 2 profile (default x2, wider distance, wider TP).
4. Reset — the first take-profit of the basket locks exactly one reset: all pending orders are removed first, then every position is closed.
5. Follow — the next cycle opens in the direction of the winning side.
KEY FEATURES
• Two-stage lot profile — independent multiplier, roll distance and TP for Layer 2-4 and Layer 5+.
• Per-layer permanent TP — older layers keep their own TP after Stage 2 begins.
• One-shot basket reset — duplicate cycles and orphan pending orders are prevented.
• Winner-follow restart — the next cycle continues in the direction of the TP that won.
• Settings snapshot — changing inputs while a basket is running only affects the NEXT cycle.
• Restart / VPS recovery — cycle state is persisted; on restart the EA rebuilds layers from open positions and detects TPs or fills that happened while the terminal was offline.
• Close-All safety latch — if you (or another tool) close the basket manually, AUTO mode does not re-enter by surprise. Re-arm with the EA OFF -> ON button.
• Equity stop (optional) — close the basket at a loss limit in % of balance or in deposit currency.
• Free-margin check before every order, maximum layer cap and maximum single-lot cap.
• Smart catch-up — if price gaps through a planned stop level, the layer is filled at market.
• Broker guards — stop level, freeze level, partial fills, pending expiration modes and duplicate pending cleanup are all handled.
• Trading sessions — two time windows (cross-midnight supported), timezone selectable, weekend filter. A running basket is always allowed to finish.
• Single-instance guard — prevents two copies running on the same account and symbol.
• Smart symbol scaling — distances are designed in gold price units and are scaled automatically on low-priced symbols.
• Premium control panel — live floating P/L, layer progress bar with stage colours, next lot, next pending order, buy/sell levels, engine state and one-click EA / MODE / FIRST DIRECTION controls. Can be minimised.
RECOMMENDED SETUP
• Symbol: XAUUSD (Gold). Timeframe does not matter (the logic is price-distance based).
• Account: MT5 HEDGING account (netting accounts are not supported). Low spread / ECN recommended.
• VPS recommended for uninterrupted operation.
• Start with the default distances and a conservative Maximum Layer, then adjust to your capital.

Choose Maximum Layer and Initial Lot according to your balance. The panel always shows the next lot before it is placed.

IMPORTANT — RISK DISCLOSURE
Dragon Roll increases lot size on each new layer and does not use a stop loss per position. A long sideways whipsaw that keeps hitting the stop levels without reaching a take-profit can build a large exposure. Use the Maximum Layer, Max Single Lot and Equity Stop inputs, size the initial lot to your account, and test on a demo account first. Past results do not guarantee future results.
