Gold TrendCatcher is an intelligent XAUUSD Expert Advisor that combines trend-following precision with an adaptive grid recovery system. Designed for gold traders who want consistent returns without babysitting their charts.
How It Works
Gold TrendCatcher identifies trend direction on a higher timeframe using a dual-EMA crossover confirmed by RSI filtering. When a clear trend is detected, the EA opens a position in its direction. If the market retraces, a progressive grid with widening spacing averages into the move — not a blind martingale, but a structured re-entry system that respects the underlying trend.
When the trend reverses, the EA intelligently manages the basket: it can close positions only when the basket is in profit, protecting your account from premature stop-outs.
Key Features
- Dual EMA + RSI Trend Engine — Trades only in the direction of the dominant trend, confirmed by RSI. No random entries. You can adjust the analysis timeframe, both EMA periods, RSI period and threshold, and choose the behavior on trend reversal.
- Progressive Grid with Widening Levels — Each grid level adds extra spacing, reducing exposure as price moves further against the initial entry. You control the initial spacing, the increment per level, and the maximum number of grid levels.
- Adjustable Lot Scaling — Choose your lot multiplier per grid level (conservative or aggressive), add a fixed lot increment, or combine both. A safety cap prevents the base lot from growing out of control.
- Built-in Economic News Filter — Automatically pauses trading before and after economic events. You configure the pause duration separately for standard and major news, the minimum importance level, monitored currencies, and gold-specific keywords (FOMC, NFP, OPEC, Powell, etc.). Option to close the basket during the news window.
- Capital-Adaptive Lot Sizing & Take Profit — Lot size and TP automatically scale with your account balance. You define the capital tier, lot increment per tier, and TP increment per tier. Choose between balance or equity as the reference.
- Flexible Take Profit Modes — Choose between basket profit in account currency, distance in points from average price, or combine both. Each mode is fully adjustable.
- Session & Time Filters — Optional pause around Tokyo, London, and New York session opens, with configurable pause duration before and after each. Separate night trading restriction with adjustable blocked time window. Option to trade exclusively during a specific session.
- Max Spread Filter — Skips entries when spread exceeds your threshold, avoiding slippage during illiquid hours.
- Emergency Stop Protection — Optional equity-vs-balance percentage stop and optional maximum floating loss in currency to protect against black swan events.
- On-Chart Dashboard — Real-time Wave-style dashboard displays current status, basket info, and key metrics directly on your chart. Customizable position, font, and dark indigo theme that can be toggled on or off.
