Stochastic Quad Rotation with Volume
Stochastic Quad Rotation with Volume is a multi-speed stochastic momentum indicator for MetaTrader 5 designed to show momentum rotation, extreme conditions, oscillator alignment, divergence and higher-timeframe context in one separate indicator window.Instead of relying on a single stochastic calculation, the indicator tracks four stochastic speeds together with a volume-weighted stochastic. This makes it possible to see how short-, medium- and longer-term momentum are interacting rather than analysing one oscillator in isolation.
Quad Stochastic Structure
The indicator includes four independently calculated stochastic lines:
-
Fast D1
-
Medium D2
-
Slow D3
-
Very Slow D4
The default lengths are 9, 14, 40 and 60. Each stochastic uses configurable K and D smoothing.
When the faster and slower stochastic components begin moving in the same direction, the indicator can identify broader momentum alignment.
The standard 80 and 20 levels provide clear overbought and oversold reference zones.
Volume-Weighted Stochastic
In addition to the four standard stochastic calculations, SQR w Volume includes a separate volume-weighted stochastic.
The calculation incorporates MetaTrader tick volume into the oscillator, providing an additional view of momentum that takes current trading activity into account.
This can help identify situations where the standard stochastic structure and volume-weighted momentum are behaving differently.
Momentum Alignment
The indicator continuously measures whether the four stochastic components are rising or falling together.
When all four stochastic lines become aligned in the same direction, the indicator can generate Super Bull or Super Bear conditions.
The green and red Super Bull/Bear arrows are disabled by default to keep the oscillator window cleaner, but they can be enabled from the indicator inputs.
Extreme Momentum Signals
White circle signals highlight extreme Medium D2 stochastic conditions.
By default:
-
Bullish extreme: D2 at or below 9
-
Bearish extreme: D2 at or above 91
An optional cool-off period can be enabled to reduce repeated signals occurring within a specified number of bars.
Full Rotation Signals
The indicator also tracks complete stochastic rotations between oversold and overbought conditions.
Yellow markers identify these broader momentum transitions when the full four-stochastic structure rotates from one extreme region toward the opposite extreme.
These signals are intended to highlight larger oscillator cycles rather than small short-term fluctuations.
Automatic Divergence Detection
SQR w Volume contains built-in regular divergence detection.
Bullish divergence is detected when price forms a lower low while the selected oscillator forms a higher low.
Bearish divergence is detected when price forms a higher high while the selected oscillator forms a lower high.
Divergence can independently be enabled for:
-
Fast D1
-
Medium D2
-
Slow D3
-
Very Slow D4
-
Volume-Weighted Stochastic
Very Slow D4 divergence is enabled by default.
Bullish and bearish divergence lines use separate configurable colors. Matching diamond markers are displayed near the upper or lower edge of the oscillator window so detected divergences can be located quickly.
The divergence pivot length, line width, line style, colors and maximum number of stored divergence lines can all be adjusted.
An optional mode can also use the corresponding stochastic line color for divergence lines.
Multi-Timeframe Dashboard
The built-in MTF dashboard provides a quick view of the Very Slow D4 stochastic condition across four configurable timeframes.
The default timeframes are:
-
M15
-
H1
-
H4
-
D1
Each timeframe is classified as Bull, Bear or Neutral according to the position of the Very Slow stochastic.
The dashboard is displayed directly inside the indicator window so the main price chart remains uncluttered.
Historical Signal Statistics
SQR w Volume includes a historical statistics table for three signal groups:
-
DOT – extreme stochastic signals
-
ROT – full rotation signals
-
DIV – divergence signals
For each signal group the table displays:
-
Wins
-
Losses
-
Win percentage
The result calculation uses configurable percentage-based Take Profit and Stop Loss levels.
Default values are:
-
Take Profit: 1.0%
-
Stop Loss: 1.0%
These statistics are intended as a historical analytical reference for comparing signal behaviour on different symbols and timeframes. They are not a guarantee of future performance.
Customisation
The indicator provides controls for:
-

-
Stochastic K and D smoothing
-

SQR w Volume is designed for traders who want to study momentum as a multi-speed process rather than relying on a single stochastic oscillator. It combines momentum structure, volume-weighted behaviour, extreme conditions, rotation, divergence, multi-timeframe context and historical signal statistics within one indicator window.
The indicator is an analytical tool and does not automatically open, manage or close trades.
