▬▬▬ THE PROBLEM ▬▬▬
A trend indicator gives you a direction. It does not tell you whether that direction has enough momentum behind it to act on.
You enter because the line turned green. Price drifts for ten bars, then reverses. The signal was real — the momentum was not there. That is the trade that cost you.
Fabii Essential Trend Baseline solves both at once. The baseline shows direction. The Momentum Confirmation Zone shows when momentum confirms it — on the same chart, with no second indicator.
▬▬▬ HOW IT WORKS ▬▬▬
A moving average sits at the centre. Around it, two adaptive deviation bands expand in volatile conditions and tighten during consolidation.
The trend flips bullish when price closes above the upper band. It flips bearish when price closes below the lower band. The baseline and candles change colour. A buy or sell arrow marks the bar.
When price pushes beyond the band in the direction of the active trend, the Momentum Confirmation Zone appears — a highlighted area between price and the band. Direction and momentum aligned, visible in one glance.
Everything calculates on the closed bar. The signal does not change after the bar closes.
▬▬▬ KEY FEATURES ▬▬▬
Three baseline types — one selector, same structure for each.
- SMA (Simple Moving Average) — plain average of the last N closes. Transparent, no weighting. Best for clean trending markets where you want a straightforward read.
- EMA (Exponential Moving Average) — weights recent closes more heavily. Reacts faster than SMA. The standard choice for most trend-following systems when earlier signals matter.
- SMMA (Smoothed Moving Average, Wilder) — the smoothest of the three. Filters noise aggressively. Built on the same formula as RSI and ATR. Ideal for longer timeframes or choppy pairs.
- Momentum Confirmation Zone — appears when price closes beyond the deviation band in the direction of the active trend. No second indicator needed. The baseline gives direction; the zone confirms the momentum is behind it. That is your confluence signal.
- Buy and sell arrows — appear on bar close, anchored to the deviation band via ATR offset. EA-ready: buffers 19 (Buy) and 20 (Sell) accessible via iCustom.
- Alerts — trend-flip and band-cross. Popup, sound, push notification. Fires once per closed bar.
- Bar limit — display the last N bars only (default 500). Clean chart, unaffected calculation.
▬▬▬ HOW TO USE IT ▬▬▬
- Attach the indicator to any chart. Default settings work on most pairs and timeframes.
- Watch the baseline colour. Green — trend is bullish. Red — trend is bearish.
- Wait for a buy or sell arrow on bar close. That is the trend flip signal.
- When the Momentum Confirmation Zone appears in the same direction, momentum confirms the trend. That is your entry filter.
- Set an alert on trend flip if you do not want to watch the screen.

▬▬▬ WHY TRUST IT ▬▬▬
Signal calculates on the closed bar only. Once the bar closes, the signal does not change. No repaint.
The live bar shows a dotted provisional baseline — it updates as the bar forms and is not a signal.
Compatible with the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester. Test it on your own pairs and timeframes before you use it live.
