Identify Breakout Conditions After Market Contraction
When price moves through a series of progressively narrower candle ranges, breakout conditions can become difficult to monitor manually across multiple charts. Tight consolidation often produces short-lived fluctuations before sustained price expansion develops.
This indicator is engineered to automatically detect consecutive candle-range contractions and systematically highlight the transition into directional expansion.
Instead of relying solely on subjective visual inspection, the tool provides structured on-chart validation as soon as a qualifying candle closes beyond the defined contraction boundary. This helps isolate potential breakout momentum during peak trading sessions across liquid instruments and active market sessions.
Entry Logic and Trade Management
Visual BUY Confirmation
- A BUY setup develops when price prints consecutive narrowing ranges followed by a bullish expansion candle closing above the upper boundary of the contraction.
- The signal confirms strictly upon the close of the setup candle.
- The open of the subsequent bar serves as the execution reference.
Visual SELL Confirmation
- A SELL setup develops when consecutive narrowing ranges are followed by a bearish expansion candle closing below the lower boundary of the contraction.
- The signal confirms strictly upon the close of the setup candle.
- The open of the subsequent bar serves as the execution reference.
Stop Loss Reference
- The indicator calculates a dynamic Stop Loss reference anchored to recent structural swing points within the contraction zone.
- A user-defined volatility buffer can be applied to provide room beyond key swing extremes.
Four Configurable Target Levels
The system automatically projects four standardized risk-to-reward (R-multiple) targets:
- TP1: 0.5R
- TP2: 0.8R
- TP3: 1.2R
- TP4: 2.0R
These tiered targets allow traders to evaluate partial scaling frameworks and assess past setup distribution across varying reward depths.
Closed-Bar Signal Behavior
- Signals calculate and lock exclusively on the candle close.
- Confirmed markers remain anchored to their historical bars without recalculating, repainting, or shifting over time.

Signal Filtering (Signal Brake)
Sideways consolidation and two-sided liquidity wicks can generate repeated false signals. The Signal Brake logic is intended to reduce this:
- Limits rapid BUY/SELL flip-flopping in tight consolidation ranges.
- Restricts new same-direction signals while a prior setup is still active.
- Requires a minimum R-distance before the next signal can trigger.
On-Chart Historical Backtest Panel
A built-in panel summarizes how signals performed on historical data for the current settings:
- Historical hit-rate breakdown across TP1, TP2, TP3, and TP4.
- Sample size shown for the configured lookback period.
- Highlights which TP level had the best historical hit-rate for that sample.
