Modular trend-following Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 — layered confirmation filters with persistent trailing stop management
TrendCandleEA is a highly configurable Expert Advisor built around a candlestick-based directional signal reinforced by a modular stack of independent confirmation filters. Each filter can be enabled or disabled individually — the core strategy remains intact regardless of which combination is active. The EA is designed to be adapted to different market conditions without rewriting any logic.

What the EA actually delivers
Closed-candle signal logic
Every entry decision is evaluated on the fully closed bar. No signal fires mid-candle, which eliminates repainting and ensures the condition that triggered the trade is stable and reproducible.
Modular confirmation filter stack
The EA includes over ten independent filters (trend, momentum, volatility, structure, volume) that can each be activated or deactivated without affecting the others. Disabling a filter leaves the strategy strictly unchanged.
Five exit modes
The EA supports five distinct position management modes: fixed TP, TP equal to SL distance, fixed-step trailing, SL-distance trailing, and a progressive trailing where the step multiplies at each move. Exactly one mode is active at a time.
Persistent trailing stop state
The trailing stop position is stored in MetaTrader's global variables and survives terminal restarts, disconnections, and power cuts. Open trades are automatically re-adopted on reconnection with no manual intervention.
Fixed or Dynamic lot sizing with daily loss cap
The EA supports fixed lot or equity-based risk percentage lot sizing, with a configurable maximum daily loss threshold that halts new entries for the rest of the session once reached.
Session, spread, and position controls
Trading can be restricted to specific server hours, capped by spread, limited to a maximum number of simultaneous positions, and configured to allow or block hedging independently.
Volume confirmation
Two independent volume filters can require minimum absolute volume, volume above a moving average of previous bars, or volume rising relative to the prior candle — all on a configurable timeframe.
Both disabling or enabling the Visual Mode in MT5 Stratégy Tester permits to explore a lot of possibilities in a short period. I suggest you to save your best configurations. Feel free to tell us in the comment the results of your best configurations.
