Zen Basket

ZenBasket is a fully automated mean-reversion Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5. Instead of chasing breakouts, it waits for the price to stretch to the edge of its short-term range and trades the pull back to the mean — patiently, in both directions, on a set of carefully selected currency pairs.

How it trades

The advisor identifies quiet, ranging conditions on a higher timeframe and fades the extremes of a price channel, using a dual-oscillator confirmation to enter only when the move looks exhausted. Positions of one direction are managed as a single basket: while the market wanders, the advisor adds calculated positions at favorable levels and closes the entire basket with a floating-profit take-profit. Position size adapts automatically to account balance, and both buy and sell sides operate independently, so the advisor can work both sides of the range at once. Entry is paused during major US news (first Friday of each month). Risk is managed at the basket level rather than with per-trade stop-losses — this design favors high win rate and smooth equity, at the cost of open floating drawdown during strong directional moves.

The strategy was validated over 20 months of real-tick testing on the following pairs, where it shows a stable, consistent profile:

Ready out of the box

No optimization is required — all recommended settings are already built into the advisor. Attach it to any of the recommended pairs on M5 and it is ready to trade. Advanced users can still fine-tune every parameter through the inputs.
