Kiwi Grid Trade Manager MT4 — Manual Grid & Smart Basket Management Utility
Kiwi Grid Trade Manager MT4 is a free MetaTrader 4 utility designed to help traders manage manual positions using an automated grid and basket-management system.
The concept is simple:
You choose the first trade. Kiwi manages the grid.
Open a manual BUY or SELL position on the chart and the utility can monitor that position, add additional grid orders according to your selected settings, calculate the combined basket break-even level, and manage the basket toward the selected exit target.
Unlike a fully automated trading robot, Kiwi Grid Trade Manager does not generate the initial trading signal. The trader remains responsible for deciding when and in which direction to enter the market.
Manual Seed → Automatic Grid
After you open the initial manual position, Kiwi can automatically build and manage the corresponding basket.
For example, after a manual BUY trade is detected, the utility can add additional BUY positions when price reaches the configured grid distance.
The same principle applies independently to SELL positions.
All eligible manual trades in the same direction are treated as one combined basket:
BUY trades → BUY Basket
SELL trades → SELL Basket
This makes it possible to manage BUY and SELL baskets separately on the same symbol.
Interactive Grid Control Dashboard
Most important grid parameters can be controlled directly from the chart dashboard without repeatedly reopening the EA properties.
Adjustable controls include:
- Maximum Orders
- Grid Distance
- Lot Source
- Base Lot
- Lot Multiplier
- Trading Direction
- Exit Mode
- Exit Target
Change the desired settings and press APPLY SETTINGS.
Using a multiplier of 1.00 keeps EA-added positions at fixed sizing according to the selected lot method. A multiplier above 1.00 progressively increases position size and therefore also increases financial risk.
Smart Basket Monitoring
The dashboard provides separate information for the BUY and SELL baskets, including:
- Manual order count
- EA-added grid order count
- Total basket orders
- Total lots
- Basket profit/loss
- Combined break-even price
- Next grid level
- Basket target
- Current basket status
Clear status messages show whether there is no active basket, a manual seed has been detected, or Kiwi is actively managing a grid.
Multiple Exit Methods
Kiwi Grid Trade Manager provides different ways to determine when a basket should be closed.
Depending on the selected configuration, basket management can use methods such as:
Break-even + Buffer — targets a level beyond the combined basket break-even.
Money Target — closes the basket when the configured monetary profit target is reached.
Balance Percentage Target — uses a target based on account balance.
This allows the utility to be adapted to different account sizes and management styles.
Manual Basket Controls
The dashboard also provides direct management controls including:
CLOSE BUY BASKET
Closes the managed BUY basket.
CLOSE SELL BASKET
Closes the managed SELL basket.
PAUSE GRID
Stops additional grid expansion while retaining basket monitoring.
CLOSE ALL
Provides fast manual intervention when required.
Built-In Safety Controls
Grid trading can significantly increase market exposure as additional positions are opened. For this reason, Kiwi Grid Trade Manager includes multiple configurable protection mechanisms.
These include:
- Maximum number of grid orders
- Maximum total lot protection
- Spread protection
- Margin protection
- Account drawdown protection
- Direction control
- Configurable lot sizing
- Grid pause control
- Manual basket-close controls
These protections reduce risk but cannot eliminate the risks associated with grid trading.
Designed for Manual Traders
Kiwi Grid Trade Manager is particularly useful for traders who want to make their own entry decisions but do not want to manually calculate and manage every additional grid position.
The workflow is:
1. Attach Kiwi Grid Trade Manager to the chart
2. Configure grid and risk settings
3. Open a manual BUY or SELL trade
4. Kiwi detects the manual position
5. Additional grid positions can be added according to your settings
6. Kiwi continuously recalculates the basket
7. The basket is managed toward the configured exit target
The initial market decision remains with the trader.

Important Risk Information
Grid trading is a high-risk trade-management technique.
If price continues moving against an existing basket, the strategy may continue adding positions until the configured maximum is reached. This can substantially increase total exposure, floating drawdown and margin usage.
Using a lot multiplier greater than 1.00 can increase this risk significantly because subsequent positions may become progressively larger.
There is no guarantee that price will return to the basket break-even or profit target.
For this reason, users should configure conservative limits appropriate to their account size, leverage and personal risk tolerance. Testing on a demo account before live trading is strongly recommended.
