Algo Shadow Matrix is a non-repainting adaptive trend indicator for MetaTrader 5 that solves vanilla Supertrend's biggest weakness — fixed-width bands that whipsaw in chop and lag in clean trends. Instead of using a static ATR multiplier, Algo Shadow Matrix measures a continuous Trend Quality Index (TQI) scored 0 to 1 on every confirmed bar from four independent factors, then uses that index to non-linearly modulate band-width, asymmetrically tighten the active trailing-stop side, widen the passive side, and trigger early regime flips when trend character collapses. The indicator becomes self-aware — it knows whether what it is looking at is a clean directional move or noise, and reacts accordingly.
On top of the TQI engine sits a 6-factor confluence scorer (0–102 with on-chart 1–5 star rating), automatic stop-loss with three computation modes (ATR + Pivot, Pure ATR, Recent Swing), three configurable take-profit targets at R-multiples (default 1R / 2R / 3R), a 100-trade rolling performance buffer with a 3×3 regime grid showing which (ER, Volume) regimes have historically been profitable, and a multi-section dashboard reporting live state across Market Context, TQI Engine, Active Signal, and Performance sections.

How It Works
Adaptive Supertrend with TQI Engine
The Trend Quality Index combines four independent measurements into a single 0..1 value: Kaufman Efficiency Ratio (directional cleanness over a 20-bar window), Volatility/Volume Regime (20-bar Z-score of tick volume, or ATR-ratio fallback on no-volume feeds), Structure Position (price's edge-pinning versus mid-range location in the recent range), and Momentum Persistence (how many of the last N bars moved in the same direction as the overall window). Default weights are 0.35 / 0.20 / 0.25 / 0.20. The weighted sum is passed through a (1 - TQI) ^ curve non-linearity (default curve = 1.5) and used to modulate band-width: high TQI compresses bands to track trends tightly, low TQI expands them to absorb chop.
Asymmetric Adaptive Bands
When asymmetric mode is enabled (default), the band on the active side (trailing stop in current trend direction) tightens by up to 12–15% of its base width while the passive side widens by up to 16–20%. The effect is a ratchet-with-leverage: profit locks in aggressively on confirmed moves while counter-trend incursions get more room before triggering a flip. Both multipliers are EMA-smoothed (alpha 0.15) to prevent jitter on single-bar TQI excursions and use previous-bar settled values to guarantee non-repainting behavior.
Character-Flip Detection
Beyond price-based band-break flips, Algo Shadow Matrix triggers a regime change when previous-bar TQI was above 0.55 and current-bar TQI dropped below 0.25 (and the current trend is at least 5 bars old). This catches regime changes 5–15 bars earlier than vanilla Supertrend, which can only see them after price has traveled far enough to break the band.
6-Factor Confluence Scoring
Every signal is scored against six independent factors that each contribute 0–17 to a total max of 102:
- Momentum — (close - close[3]) / ATR normalized to 0–17
- Efficiency — ER mapped from 0.15–0.7 range to 0–17
- Volume Burst — 20-bar volume Z-score mapped to 0–17 (BYPASS = 12 if no volume)
- RSI Depth — deepest excursion into OB/OS over RsiLookback bars
- Structure — inverse distance to nearest confirmed pivot
- ST-Break — depth that price broke through the Supertrend on the trigger bar
Total score is displayed as a numeric value plus 1–5 stars: 0–25 = 1 star, 26–45 = 2, 46–65 = 3, 66–85 = 4, 86–102 = 5.
Automatic Risk Management — SL + 3 TP Levels
When a signal fires, the indicator immediately computes SL and three TPs and draws them as horizontal lines extending forward from the signal bar with right-side price labels. The SL has three computation modes (ATR + Pivot, Pure ATR, Recent Swing), and the three TP R-multiples are independently configurable (defaults 1.0R / 2.0R / 3.0R) and auto-sorted ascending. Hit detection runs on every confirmed bar and drops TP1 HIT / TP2 HIT / TP3 HIT / SL HIT labels with corresponding alert events.
Non-Repainting Signal Engine
All signals are evaluated on confirmed closed bars only. Multiplier EMAs use previous-bar settled values. Ratchet logic uses previous-bar comparisons. The history-scan routine at indicator load deterministically replays every signal — historical replay is byte-identical to what fired live. The initial-load alert flood guard suppresses popups during the replay pass so attaching the indicator does not flood the terminal.
Multi-Section Dashboard
A pixel-anchored widget rendered in any of six corner positions (TR/TL/BR/BL/MR/ML) with X/Y pixel offsets and configurable font size, column width, and margin. Four colored sections: Market Context (trend regime, preset, ATR), TQI Engine (TQI score, ER + RSI + volZ, optional 4-factor breakdown), Active Signal (direction, entry, SL, TP1/TP2/TP3 with hit markers), Performance (win rate, average R, drawdowns, regime grid, streak counters). The 3×3 regime grid surfaces non-obvious edge by tracking EWMA R per (Efficiency bin, Volume bin) cell.

Best Markets and Timeframes
Algo Shadow Matrix works on every symbol type — forex majors, exotics, indices, commodities (gold, silver, oil), individual stocks, and crypto pairs — and on every timeframe from M1 to MN1. The Auto preset selects optimal parameters by timeframe: Scalping on M5 and below, Default on M15–H4, Swing above H4. The Crypto preset is tuned for 24-hour markets. Higher timeframes (H1 and above) produce fewer, higher-quality signals; lower timeframes generate more frequent setups. The TQI engine automatically adapts band-width to volatility regime, so manual parameter tuning is rarely needed beyond preset selection.
