"Twits Price speedometer" is an indicator designed to measure current "speed" and directional efficiency of price movement in real time. It has been developed as an Expert Advisor (EA) because it reacts to every incoming tick, making it independent from traditional chart time frames and capable of analyzing markets with extremely high precision, even at the level of individual ticks or milliseconds.
The operating principle is simple yet highly effective. Within a user-defined analysis window (for example, 10,000 ticks or 60,000 milliseconds), the indicator calculates the total distance traveled by price and compares it with the net directional movement. Based on these values, it computes a movement efficiency ratio expressed as a percentage.
The interpretation is intuitive: the higher the percentage value (in absolute value), the more directional and organized the current market movement is. Lower values indicate chaotic price action, consolidation, or a lack of clear market dominance by buyers or sellers. The sign of the percentage value therefore reflects the direction of the price movement.
Free version provides the core real-time analysis functionality for a single measurement range. Standard version introduces additional advanced features, including support for multiple simultaneous analysis ranges, extended parameter customization, and data export to file for further statistical analysis and quantitative research.
The indicator is also available in the form of a dedicated library, significantly expanding its flexibility and enabling integration with custom trading systems, automated strategies, and algorithmic trading solutions.
