Sessions and News Marker — sessions, calendar news and more, drawn right on your chart
MetaTrader 5 leaves your chart bare: no weekend shading, no night session, no economic news on the price itself. This free indicator adds the markup that should have been there from the start, so you read market structure at a glance instead of switching between windows.
Session and time markup
- Weekend shading — Saturdays and Sundays are highlighted (visible on crypto and other 24/7 instruments)
- Night session — low-liquidity hours are shaded, with a fully adjustable window and server-time offset
- Week edges — clear vertical lines at the Friday close and the Monday open
- Period separators — drawn automatically by timeframe: years on a monthly chart, months on weekly and daily, weeks and days on lower timeframes, each with a label
Economic news on the chart
- Scheduled events are taken from the built-in MetaTrader 5 calendar and drawn as colour-coded triangles by importance (high / medium / low)
- Each marker shows the release time and the event topic, and is pinned to its own candle — it travels with the bar and never jumps when you zoom or scroll
- When several events fall close together, the labels stagger vertically so they never overlap
- Filters: by importance level, and by the currencies of the current symbol plus any extra currencies you list
Candle close timer
- A clean MM:SS countdown next to the current price, turning red in the final seconds
- Runs smoothly and does not freeze on a quiet market
Built to stay out of your way
- No repaint and no terminal load — heavy calculations are kept off the tick stream and run once per bar
- Dark / Light theme with subtle tints that shade a zone without ever burying the candles
- Interface language: English, Russian, German, Spanish, Japanese
- Every block toggles independently — keep only what you need
Notes
The economic calendar is only available on live charts (not in the Strategy Tester) and requires it to be enabled in the terminal. Event names are provided by the MetaTrader 5 calendar and follow the terminal language (View - Languages); the language option above controls this indicator's own text.
