Trailing Peak Guard closes a position the moment its floating profit turns against you — instead of waiting on a fixed Take Profit that may never be reached, or giving back a winning trade while you wait for a textbook exit. It tracks the peak floating profit each position (or basket) reaches, and closes once profit retraces a set amount from that peak. It never opens a trade — it only protects the ones you (or your EA) already have open.
Why per-position, not account-wide
Most "protect your profit" tools watch the whole account's equity curve, so one strong winner can get dragged into closing early just because another position is dragging the total down. Trailing Peak Guard tracks the peak separately for each position (or each symbol+magic basket you choose), so a winning trade is judged only on its own peak, never diluted by what's happening elsewhere on the account.
What it does
- Peak-tracking exit — watches floating profit per position (or combined per symbol+magic basket), remembers the highest point it reached, and closes once profit gives back a configurable % or fixed amount from that peak.
- Arms only after real profit — does nothing until floating profit crosses your chosen threshold ($ amount or % of balance), so it never interferes with a trade that's barely green or still in the noise.
- Works alongside anything — manual trades, this EA, or any other EA. Filter by magic number to manage only specific trades, or leave it open to protect everything on the account.
- Per-position or basket mode — protect each position independently, or treat every position on the same symbol+magic as one combined basket with one shared peak.
- Profit floor — optionally set a minimum profit the exit will never close below, so a deep giveback % still can't trigger a close at a worse level than you're comfortable with.
- Live on-chart dashboard — tracked positions/baskets, combined floating profit, and a running count of positions closed today.
- Alert on close — pop-up alert the moment it closes something, with the profit and the peak it gave back from.
Key Settings Explained
- Arm Profit / Arm Profit % — how much floating profit must exist before protection switches on for that position or basket.
- Giveback % / Giveback Fixed — how much of the peak profit can be given back before it closes. % scales with the size of the move; Fixed is a constant amount regardless of peak size.
- Min Lock Profit — a floor the exit price will never go below, even if the giveback % would otherwise allow it.
- Per Position / Magic Filter / Symbol Only — control exactly which positions this manages.
Designed for
Traders and EA users who open winning trades and then either exit too early on a fixed TP, or watch profit evaporate waiting for one — especially on strategies without a fixed, reliable TP level (breakout/trend-following, discretionary entries, grid/martingale recovery legs once they turn positive).
What this is NOT
- Not an entry strategy — it never opens a position. Attach it alongside your own manual trading or EA.
- Not a Stop Loss replacement — keep your real SL in place; this only manages the profit side once a trade is already green.
- Not a guarantee against a trade that goes straight to loss without ever arming — if profit never reaches the Arm threshold, this tool does nothing, exactly as designed.
