Risk Position Tool is a free position size calculator for MetaTrader 5. Drag the entry, stop-loss and take-profit lines on the chart. It shows the lot for your risk, the money at the stop and target, the reward:risk ratio and the margin.
It only calculates. It never places, changes or closes an order, so it is safe on any account.
Quick start
- Attach the indicator to the chart of the symbol you trade.
- Press BUY or SELL. The three lines appear. The stop is 1.5 x ATR(14) from the entry and the target is 2 x the stop.
- In the inputs, set "Risk measured as" and "Risk per trade".
- Drag the lines and read the lot in the panel. CLEAR removes them.
What it shows
- Lot size: for a risk set as a % of the balance, a % of the equity, or a fixed amount of money.
- Rounding: the lot is rounded down to the broker's lot step. The money at the stop is never above your risk. Below the minimum lot, it says so and shows what that lot would risk.
- Stop and target: the money at each, the distance in points and the reward:risk ratio.
- Margin: what the lot needs, with a warning when free margin is short.
- Loss per lot: from the symbol's tick value and the terminal's profit calculation. It works on forex, gold, indices and crypto in any account currency.
- Entry: the line follows the price until you drag it.
- Memory: the lines stay put after a timeframe change.
