Position Story MT5 answers a practical history question: what happened inside this position?
Select a position from the account history and the panel rebuilds its story from the recorded deals. You can see the opening deal, partial exits, reversals or close-by events, their order, and the values MT5 recorded for each one.
What it shows
• Position summary with symbol, position ID, deal count, recorded entry/exit volume when that split is knowable, and coverage state.
• Ordered deal sequence with time, type, volume, price, ticket, magic number and deal reason when available.
• A clear state for single magic, mixed magic, or zero magic values.
• A coverage note showing the selected history window and whether the recorded lineage is complete, open, or has a missing opening and/or closing boundary.
• A plain evidence takeaway explaining what the recorded sequence supports.
Position Story uses magic numbers as recorded deal fields. A magic number does not prove which EA or person initiated an operation, and the panel never invents an EA name. Missing fields are shown as unknown.
The tool handles partial exits as part of the same position lineage. Reversal and close-by records remain visible in the sequence when MT5 supplies them. A lineage still present in the terminal is shown as open. Missing opening and/or closing boundaries are shown as truncated. When a reversal begins after a missing opening boundary, its entry/exit split is shown as unknown instead of guessed.
Use PREV and NEXT to select a recorded position story. The panel shows up to nine rows at once and explicitly reports the visible slice. Export CSV is a user action that saves the full selected sequence, including rows beyond the panel slice, with the same history-coverage note.
Position Story is read-only. It does not place, modify, or delete orders. It does not generate signals, calculate risk, rank strategies, or analyze profitability. It reads the history available in the current MT5 account and selected time window; events outside that history cannot be reconstructed.
Attach the indicator to any chart, cycle through the recorded position stories, and inspect the selected deal sequence. Questions and bug reports should use the product comments.
