Dax Box

Dax Box is a breakout Expert Advisor designed specifically for the German 40 index (GER40 / DE40 / GER40.cash). It trades structured price ranges by identifying a defined “box” during a selected time window and executing trades only when strong directional movement occurs beyond that range.

This EA focuses on disciplined, rule-based trading with strict risk control. It uses fixed stop loss logic derived from the box structure and applies dynamic position sizing based on your chosen risk model.

Unlike many aggressive systems, Dax Box does NOT use grid trading, averaging, or martingale techniques.

Test on German40 (5 minute) - Set tester validation to false - The 10H00 start time should be London open time on your server plus 10m for end time.

How It Works

1. Box Formation
   • The EA marks a price range between your defined start and end time.
   • This creates a “box” based on the highest high and lowest low in that period.
2. Breakout Levels
   • Additional levels are calculated above and below the box.
   • These act as trigger zones for potential trades.
3. Trade Entry
   • Trades are only placed after the box period ends.
   • A trade is triggered when price breaks beyond the extended levels.
   • Optional filters:
     • Daily Open direction filter
     • Multi-timeframe RSI confirmation
4. Risk Management
   • Lot size is automatically calculated using:
     • Fixed risk amount or
     • Percentage of account balance
   • Stop loss is based on the box midpoint.
   • Take profit is set using a multiplier of the risk distance.
5. Trade Management
   • Optional breakeven feature locks in trades once price moves in your favor.
   • Pending orders expire after a set time if not triggered.
   • Daily drawdown protection stops trading if losses hit your limit.

How to Use

• Best Symbol: GER40 / DE40 / GER40.cash
• Recommended Timeframe: M5 
• Attach the EA to one chart of the index

Basic Setup:

1. Set your box time window (e.g., 10:00 (London Open) – 10:10)
2. Choose your risk model:
   • % risk (recommended), or
   • Fixed amount
3. Adjust:
   • TakeProfitMultiplier (e.g., 2.0 for 1:2 RR)
   • BreakEven settings (optional)
4. Enable/disable filters depending on your style

Important Notes:

• Only one trade per day is placed
• Trades are only taken after a clear breakout
• Built-in safety checks prevent trading under poor conditions
• Designed for clean, controlled entries — not overtrading
