Overview
The Superior Trading Sessions Indicator is a technical charting tool designed to automatically visualize major global trading sessions (Asian, London, New York, Frankfurt) alongside advanced Smart Money Concepts (SMC) elements directly on your chart. It is built to keep the chart clean while providing critical daily liquidity targets, session equilibriums, and real-time range data.
Core Features
- Session Visualization: Draws customizable rectangles for the 4 major sessions and 4 specific high-volatility "Killzones".
- Previous Day High/Low (PDH/PDL): Automatically plots yesterday's high and low prices as liquidity targets for the current live day.
- Asian Range Projections: Extends the high and low of the Asian session forward by 16 hours to help identify liquidity sweeps during the London/NY overlap.
- Session Equilibrium: Draws a 50% midline through active sessions to determine Premium vs. Discount pricing.
- Real-Time Data Tags: Displays the real-time pip size of the active session alongside exact High/Low price labels.
- Clutter Reduction: Options to draw hollow rectangles (borders only) and hide all historical session boxes, showing only the actively running session.
Input Parameters Guide
Timezone Settings
- Broker GMT Offset: (Integer) Set this to your broker's current GMT offset (e.g., 2 for GMT+2, 3 for GMT+3). Why: Ensures the standard session hours align perfectly with your broker's server time, regardless of where your broker is located.
Premium Features
- Show Session Range in Pips: (True/False) Displays the total height of the session box in pips next to the session name. Why: Allows you to instantly gauge if a session is consolidating (tight range) or trending (wide range) without using the crosshair tool.
- Show Exact High/Low Price Tags: (True/False) Prints the precise price level at the top and bottom corners of the session box. Why: Useful for breakout traders who need exact price levels for pending stop orders.
- Draw Vertical Line at Session Open: (True/False) Draws a dashed vertical line on the exact opening candle of the session. Why: Visually anchors the exact moment volume injected into the market.
Advanced SMC Styles
- Fill Session Boxes: (True/False) If True, the rectangle has a solid background color. If False, the rectangle is hollow (only draws the border). Why: Hollow boxes keep price candles 100% visible and prevent muddy overlaps on crowded charts.
- Show Session Equilibrium (50% Midlines): (True/False) Draws a dotted line exactly at the 50% retracement of the session. Why: Used to determine "Premium" (sell zones above 50%) and "Discount" (buy zones below 50%) pricing within that specific session.
- Project Asian Range High/Low: (True/False) Projects horizontal lines from the Asian High and Low across the rest of the day. Why: The "Asian Sweep" is a core SMC setup; this projects those liquidity pools forward so you can watch for false breakouts during London/New York.
- Track Previous Day High/Low (PDH/PDL): (True/False) Draws solid horizontal lines for the previous day's high and low. Why: Institutional algorithms heavily target daily liquidity. This marks the most important liquidity pools for the current day.
Display Settings
- Show ONLY Currently Active Session: (True/False) If True, the indicator deletes all historical session boxes and only draws the session that is actively happening right now. Why: Prevents chart clutter for traders who only care about live price action and don't need to backtest visually.
- Apply Dark Chart Theme: (True/False) Automatically changes the chart background to black and hides the MT5 grid upon loading. Why: The indicator's color palette is optimized for dark charts. This saves you from having to manually adjust chart properties.
Alerts & Notifications
- Enable Popup Alerts: (True/False) Triggers an MT5 desktop popup.
- Enable Mobile Push Notifications: (True/False) Triggers a push notification to your phone.
- Alert on Session Open: (True/False) Fires an alert the exact second a new session begins. Why: Saves you from staring at the chart waiting for volume to arrive.
- Alert on Session Close: (True/False) Fires an alert when a session officially ends.
Session Settings (Repeated for Asian, London, New York, Frankfurt)
- Enable [Session]: Toggles the visibility of the main session.
- [Session] Start/End Hour & Minute: The GMT start and end times for the session.
- [Session] Killzone Settings: Separate toggles and time inputs to draw a secondary, specific high-volatility "Killzone" box inside the main session. Why: Modern ICT traders focus strictly on 2-3 hour "Killzone" windows rather than the entire 9-hour session.
