Overview of Updates (v5.2 to v5.5)
The primary enhancement in v5.5 is the integration of Market Sentiment Indicators to filter or trigger trades when not using pending order distances. It also introduces more robust session statistics and drawdown tracking.
2. New Features & Functionality
-
Indicator-Based Entry (Feature 3):
-
Condition: This system activates when InpPendingDist is set to 0.
-
EMA Filter: Uses an Exponential Moving Average to confirm the trend direction (Buy above, Sell below).
-
ADX (Average Directional Index): Filters trades based on trend strength. You can set minimum and maximum levels (e.g., 25.0 to 100.0).
-
ATR (Average True Range): Volatility filter to ensure trades only occur when market movement is within a specific range.
-
CHOP Index: Determines if the market is trending or "choppy" (ranging). Helps avoid trading in sideways markets.
-
-
Flexible Daily Logic:
-
InpContinueDaily: A new setting that allows the EA to continue running across sessions until the overall daily profit/loss target is reached.
-
3. How It Works
-
Indicator Logic: During each tick, the EA calculates the latest values for ADX, ATR, and CHOP. If the conditions for all active indicators are met, the EA triggers an entry.
-
Reset Mechanism: The ResetAllSession function performs a "hard reset" of equity and statistics using TimeCurrent() to ensure the starting point for PnL calculation is perfectly synced with the market.
To ensure the indicator system in GoldHedgePro v5.5 functions correctly as per the manual, and to understand the impact of setting all 3 indicators (ADX, ATR, CHOP) to true, please follow these guidelines:
1. Crucial Requirement
To enable the indicator system, you must set InpPendingDist to 0.
-
If this value is greater than 0, the EA will utilize the Virtual Line (Hedge Pair) system instead and will ignore the indicators for entry signals.
2. Functionality when setting all 3 to "True" (AND Logic)
When you set InpUseADX , InpUseATR , and InpUseCHOP to true simultaneously, the EA operates using "AND" logic. This means every single condition must be met at the same time before the EA triggers a trade:
-
ADX (Trend Strength): The current ADX value must be within your specified Min and Max range (e.g., 25.0 to 100.0) to confirm sufficient trending momentum.
-
ATR (Volatility): Market volatility must fall within your defined range to ensure the EA doesn't trade during "dead" markets or during extreme, unpredictable spikes.
-
CHOP Index (Market State): The CHOP value must be within the set range (e.g., below 38.2) to confirm the market is actually trending and not just oscillating in a "choppy" sideways zone.
Summary: If any one of these indicators fails its condition (e.g., ADX is strong, but CHOP indicates a sideways market), the EA will not open a trade. This is designed to filter out false signals and increase accuracy.
3. Directional Filter (EMA Filter)
In addition to the three filters above, the EMA Period (default is 20) always acts as the primary direction decider:
-
Buy: Triggered only when the price is above the EMA line AND all 3 indicators are valid.
-
Sell: Triggered only when the price is below the EMA line AND all 3 indicators are valid.
ATR period : -------- Trade Trigger value for ATR : From ----- To -------
