Gold M30 Bollinger Reversion Expert
Gold M30 Bollinger Reversion Expert is an automated mean-reversion trading system designed primarily for Gold (XAUUSD) on the M30 timeframe.
The Expert Advisor uses Bollinger Bands to identify potential price extremes. Instead of following a breakout, the strategy looks for possible reversals after price reaches the upper or lower Bollinger Band.
TRADING LOGIC
The core strategy is based on Bollinger Band mean reversion.
BUY:
- Price reaches or moves below the Lower Bollinger Band.
- By default, the completed candle must close back inside the Bollinger Bands.
- The EA opens a BUY position expecting a potential reversal toward the center of the Bollinger Bands.
SELL:
- Price reaches or moves above the Upper Bollinger Band.
- By default, the completed candle must close back inside the Bollinger Bands.
- The EA opens a SELL position expecting a potential reversal toward the center of the Bollinger Bands.
The strategy evaluates completed M30 candles rather than making decisions from unfinished candle movements.
BOLLINGER BAND SETTINGS
Default settings:
- Timeframe: M30
- Bollinger Period: 20
- Bollinger Deviation: 2.0
- Bollinger Shift: 0
- Applied Price: Close
An optional RSI confirmation filter is also included and can be enabled by the user.
RISK MANAGEMENT
The Expert Advisor includes several built-in risk management features:
- Percentage-based automatic lot calculation
- Optional fixed lot size
- Maximum lot protection
- ATR-based Stop Loss
- Bollinger Middle Band Take Profit option
- Alternative Risk/Reward-based Take Profit
- Spread protection
- Margin checks
- Broker stop-level protection
Default risk per trade is 0.50% of available free margin.
The default maximum lot size is 1.00 lot. This helps prevent excessively large positions when the EA is used on accounts with a high balance.
TAKE PROFIT
By default, the EA uses the Bollinger Middle Band as the Take Profit target when the middle band is positioned correctly relative to the trade entry.
If the middle-band target cannot be used, the EA can calculate Take Profit using the configured Risk/Reward Ratio.
STOP LOSS
Stop Loss is dynamically calculated using ATR (Average True Range).
Default:
ATR Period: 14
Stop Loss: ATR x 1.20
The EA also takes broker minimum stop distances, spread and symbol tick size into consideration when placing SL and TP levels.
SINGLE POSITION PROTECTION
The Expert Advisor is designed to maintain only one EA position on the symbol at a time.
If an existing position opened by this EA is still active, the system will not open another BUY or SELL position until the existing position has been closed.
NO MARTINGALE OR GRID
Gold M30 Bollinger Reversion Expert does not use:
- Martingale
- Grid trading
- Averaging down
- Recovery systems
Position size is controlled using the selected risk management settings.

Gold symbol names can vary between brokers, so the EA does not require one specific broker symbol name by default.
