Where is the price inside the range — in one panel.
BoxRangeSnap looks for price zones where the highs and lows touched the same top and bottom again and again, and draws them as a big box and a small box. The panel keeps showing the distance from the price to the top and bottom of the current box.
Features
- Automatic range boxes: a big box and a small box, newest first. The current box is highlighted and extends to the last closed bar.
- Adjustable detection: minimum touches on the top and bottom, touch band width, and how concentrated the closes must be.
- Distance panel: distance in pips from the Bid to the top and bottom, and the position inside the box in %.
- Fibonacci levels: at 23.6 / 38.2 / 50 / 61.8% the panel shows "Shallow pullback", "Deep rebound" and so on.
- Five snapshots: save a recent box with one button and show it again later to check the top, bottom and Fibonacci levels that are still working. Kept after MetaTrader restarts (per chart and symbol).
- Saved time and age: timeframe, saved time and how long ago (e.g. 8h30m).
- Notifications: sound, alert, e-mail and push when the price reaches a Fibonacci level, touches the top or bottom, or breaks out. Each kind at most once per 60 seconds (adjustable).
- Your time zone: Tokyo, London, New York and 9 more cities, daylight saving included.
- Movable panel: drag the title to move it, click it to fold.
How the boxes are found
A window of bars slides from the newest bar back in time. A window becomes a box when the highs and lows touched the top band and the bottom band alternately at least twice each, and the closes stay concentrated (standard deviation of closes / box height under the limit). The window length follows the timeframe, so H1 and M15 give boxes covering roughly the same calendar time. Only closed bars are used.
