Overview
Adaptive filtering trend
is a multi-layer signal filtering indicator for the MetaTrader 5 platform, built on the Coppock curve. The indicator computes a long-period and a short-period Rate of Change (ROC) of the price, sums them, and smooths the sum with a Weighted Moving Average (WMA) to obtain the Coppock curve. A set of independently switchable filters is then applied to screen the signals, and bullish or bearish crossings are marked on the main chart through recolorized candles and arrows. Core Calculation
- Compute the long ROC ( InpRocLong ) and the short ROC ( InpRocShort ).
- Sum the two ROC values into a combined ROC series.
- Apply WMA smoothing ( InpWmaLen ) to the combined series to produce the Coppock curve.
- A bullish cross is identified when the curve turns upward from the previous bar; a bearish cross when it turns downward.
Adaptive Filtering
Users may select an adaptive filter for the source price via InpAdaptType . Available options: None, SMA, EMA, RMA, Double WMA, Triple VWMA, HMA, LLAMA, and Kalman Filter. The filter length is controlled by InpAdaptLen .
Optional Signal Filters
Each of the following filters can be enabled or disabled independently:
- ADX strength filter: Requires the ADX of InpAdxLen periods to be no lower than InpAdxThresh .
- Divergence filter: Detects divergence between price and the Coppock curve based on InpDivLookback .
- Slope acceleration filter: Requires the Coppock curve slope to be accelerating.
- Volume confirmation: Current volume must exceed the InpVolLen -period volume average.
- Multi-timeframe alignment: On the higher timeframe specified by InpMtfTimeframe , the Coppock direction must agree with the current signal.
- Volatility-adjusted zero line: A zero-line cross is confirmed only when the absolute Coppock value exceeds InpVolatZeroMult × the InpVolatZeroLen -period standard deviation.
- Signal persistence filter: Requires at least InpPersistBars consecutive prior bars in the opposite direction.
Visual Presentation
- Main-chart candles are recolored according to the Coppock value and direction, giving an intuitive read of trend strength.
- A bull arrow is drawn below the low on a zero-line upward cross; a bear arrow is drawn above the high on a downward cross (offset controlled by InpArrowOffset ).
- Upon a fresh cross signal, ATR-based reference lines are drawn on the chart for entry, stop loss, and three take-profit levels ( InpAtrMult , InpTp1R , InpTp2R , InpTp3R are adjustable).
- A dashboard in the top-right corner displays in real time the Coppock value, bias, long/short ROC, zero-line position, entry/stop/take-profit references, ADX, and the adaptive filter type.
Alerts
When InpEnableAlerts is enabled, the indicator can output reminders on signal triggers. The action names for each reminder can be customized in the input parameters.

Usage Recommendations
- The indicator works on all symbols and timeframes in MetaTrader 5.
- It is recommended to become familiar with the filter combinations on a demo account before live use.
- Under different symbols and timeframes, the ROC periods, WMA length, and filter combinations may require re-optimization.
- This indicator is an analytical aid. The entry, stop-loss, and take-profit reference lines are for manual-trading reference only; they do not constitute trading commands or profit guarantees.
