RSI + EMA Momentum
MetaTrader 4 Indicator for RSI-Based Momentum Analysis
RSI + EMA Momentum is a MetaTrader 4 indicator designed to measure momentum using the
relationship between RSI and its exponential moving average (EMA).
Instead of relying exclusively on traditional overbought and oversold levels, the indicator evaluates the
distance between RSI and its EMA and normalizes the result using standard deviation. This approach
provides a momentum score that adapts to different volatility conditions and market environments.
The indicator can also compare local momentum conditions with higher timeframes (H1, H4 and D1)
and display the result through a simple grading system.
All calculations are performed on closed bars. Historical values remain stable and the indicator does not
repaint.
Calculation Method
The momentum score is calculated as:
•
•
RSI minus EMA(RSI)
divided by the local standard deviation
The resulting value represents the relative strength of the current RSI movement compared to recent
market conditions.
Signal States
LONG
A bullish signal is generated when:
•
•
RSI is above its EMA
The momentum score exceeds the EntryForza threshold
SHORT
A bearish signal is generated when:
•
•
RSI is below its EMA
The momentum score exceeds the EntryForza threshold in the opposite direction
NEUTRAL
The signal returns to neutral when:
•
•
Momentum falls below the configured exit threshold
RSI crosses its EMA
Multi-Timeframe Evaluation
The indicator can optionally compare the current timeframe signal with higher timeframe conditions.
Signal grades:
•
•
•
•
A = Current timeframe only
A+ = Current timeframe + H1
A++ = Current timeframe + H1 + H4
A+++ = Current timeframe + H1 + H4 + D1
This grading system allows traders to quickly identify the degree of alignment between multiple
timeframes.
