The Logic Behind the Indicator

The strategy behind the TrendMaster Pro indicator is built upon a robust, two-layer analytical approach that combines a classic trend-following principle with a dynamic volatility-based calculation .

  1. Core Trend Identification: The foundation of the indicator is a Simple Moving Average (iMA). The system determines the primary trend by comparing the current price to this MA.

    • If the price is above the MA, the market is considered to be in a bullish (uptrend) state.

    • If the price is below the MA, the market is considered to be in a bearish (downtrend) state. You have full control over the Trend Period and the Applied Price used for this calculation, allowing you to tailor the indicator's core sensitivity.

  2. Dynamic Trend Line Calculation: This is what makes TrendMaster Pro exceptionally insightful. Instead of just relying on the MA, the indicator calculates a dynamic trend line that acts as a trailing support or resistance level. This calculation incorporates a volatility measurement, for which you can choose between the Average True Range (ATR) or the Standard Deviation (StdDev).

    • In an Uptrend: The blue trend line is plotted below the price. Its value is calculated as the maximum of either the current low minus the volatility value, or the previous value of the trend line itself. This allows the line to trail below the price, rising with the trend but holding steady during minor pullbacks, providing a clear visual of the dynamic support level.

    • In a Downtrend: The red trend line is plotted above the price. Its value is calculated as the minimum of either the current high plus the volatility value, or the previous value of the trend line. This creates a trailing resistance level that follows the price down but holds firm during minor rallies.

Trading Signals and Strategy

TrendMaster Pro provides clear, actionable signals for manual trading based on its core logic .

  • Entry Signals: The indicator generates a potential entry signal on the new bar after a trend change is confirmed. An arrow will appear on the chart to mark the signal.

    • A Buy Signal is suggested when the price crosses from below to above the central moving average, indicating a potential shift to a bullish trend.

    • A Sell Signal is suggested when the price crosses from above to below the central moving average, indicating a potential shift to a bearish trend.

  • Exit Strategy: For managing your trades, the indicator's visual cues are invaluable. The flipping of the trend line color is a powerful signal for a potential exit. For example, if you are in a long position and the line turns from blue to red, it suggests that the uptrend may be losing momentum or reversing, providing a clear signal to consider closing the trade.
