PolyFitScalper - page 41

mcspooge:
ok...thanks alot. I will check out the other version. Yours did trade today and would have blown up like ours if you had bigger lot sizes.

I announced that I stop testing this EA with old settings so I am continuing just for information only.

Use new settings.

Anyway, it is scalper and it is martingale so it is double risky to use.

fmonera:
I mean, for example, this is the current behaviour:

1) Price goes outside of the band, then we pick a 0.01 trade @1000

2) Price goes further, then we pick a 0.02 trade @1200

3) Price comes near the band, but still outside the band, then we pick a 0,04 trade @1100

Wouldn't it be wise just not to open this third trade? I am proposing that a third trade should be opened only if price is above 1200.

There are 2 kinds of settings:

- old settings: martingale feature is not working in same case so we have many "floating open trades";

- new settings: martingale feature is working, and trades may be closed in loss (instead of floating for the long time).

So, I am using new settings now.

The problem with this EA is that it is very complicated coded ... I mean: it is easy to create new EA than to improve this one (that is why I am "playing" with setting).

May be - it is really the idea to create new EA with clear martingale and scalping.

I have modified the PolyfitScalper EA to be more safe on small accounts. A trade is only taken if there are no trades in other pairs.

This is the behaviour:

- Let's say we have PolyfitScalper on 6 pairs

- On EURUSD we pick a trade.

- As there are EURUSD trades opened, we skip all trades generated on any of the other five pairs.

- Trades are only taken on EURUSD until they are all closed.

Benefit: we benefit from having more pairs (trades more often) without multiplying the risk.

I'm not sure if I should post the mod here or open another thread. Or if the concept is bad and should not be posted at all

Yes, it is good idea to trade 1 pair per Metatrader.

As I understand - it was time filter to code at night.

For example - there are many EAs to trade using timefilter on the same day (6 am - 6 pm; 10 am - 19; and so on).

But this timefilter is working on the way as:

- start trading today

- end trading tomorrow

(by hours).

For example: 9 pm - 3 am next day.

Or ... it may be the market closed at 11 pm.

Besides - what is written in ScheduleMode?

ScheduleMode = 1 in the settings?

If yes so the time is in text file.

I have ScheduleMode = 0

I will review the code to see if that was the problem. Thanks.

Because what I know about timefilter:

it is written that

- ending: 17:00

so it is ending 1 bar before 18:00.

There is some post with links about timefilter:

https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/176023

But from what I know - it it is written as 8 - 17 so it is 8 till 17:59.

I do not know how those 45 minutes were programmed inside EA.
