To lock in to candle in MT4 ?

Is it possible to lock in to candle in MT4 during Time frame changes ..

like .. when i backtest old data and shift between 1 hour to 15 minutes to 5 minutes . its pretty hard to find the day and time i was looking at the hourly chart ..... when i change over to the small time frames...

what i am looking for is a sort of like a zoom function so that the hourly candle that i am looking at breaks into 30 mins .. 15 mins .. 10 mins etc .. sort of like anchoring to a specific time.

Hi. You can simply insert a vertical line at that bar, then switch to a different time frame and look for the line mark. I am not aware of any more convenient method, unfortunately. Would be happy to hear other ideas too.

CROSSHAIR with 2 horizontal lines X pips away

Hi everyone,

Does somebody know a Crosshair function/ or tool, which shows 2 additional Lines +/- X pips away from price?

For example, X=20, if you move the cursor to 1.3500, there would be a line at 1.3480 and 1.3520

That would be really useful.

Thanks

I dont know why my thread has been moved in here by forex tsd? It was posted in the indicator thread.

Maybe a programmer is also interested in such a Crosshair tool and will help me.

Thanks

It is not the same what you are looking for but very similar.

Hi Newdigital,

thanks a lot for your input. I actually have grid-and breakout lines in my arsenal already.

I need these 2 Lines moving along with the cursor, or the crosshairs.

It would be a perfect backtest tool.

lets asume the entry is at 1.3626, TP 15 pips.

You first have to get the price at the Entry with the crosshairs: 1.3626, then add 15 in your head, 1.3641, then go to this price 1.3641 with the crosshairs again, and finally check if the TP would have been hit.

Now with my suggested tool You just put the cursor on the entry, and You are done!

I have searched the web for 3 days, but it seems it doesnt exist.

Im sure a lot of traders would love to have this tool.

Thanks
