NFP Results

Here are my News Trader results for the Non-Farm Payroll, Apr. 3, 2009:

3 different brokers: (Demo Accounts)

FXDD: -$ 9,998.83

Best Direct: -$ 9,754.04

Alpari(US): - $ 7,385.55

Total Loss: - $ 27,138.42

Now, either I am doing something terribly wrong

or this EA is just not going to make it. .

Question: should you be watching the trades and close them manually?

I think I may have made a mistake thinking they would close themselves.

One mistake I did make: there is a 4 hour difference between the calendar's time and my local time. The 12:30 GMT (NFP) is 8:30 AM EST.

Sheesh! Do I have a lot to learn.

It should be fixed not with registering with calendar.

As to your trades ...

It is what I had:

You do not need to think about the time or GMT. This EA is doing it automatically. You just need to attach it to the chart and change the settings for pending orders and decided which pair you will trade and so on.

Do not think about it: this EA is doing it automatically for every broker.

By the way, GBPUSD is the most risky pair for news trading. Most stable is USDCAD. And usually trading the news is just from 0 to 1 trades in a week. If more - it is very risky. And of course. it is necessary to monitor the trades because EA is trading just 10 - 15 minutes and movemen is not very predictable sometimes.

Yes, I am always trying to close trades manually but sorry: I do not have time to monitor the trades sometimes.

News Trader

with all due respect, Mr. ND, I need to pay attention to the local time so that I can monitor the trades in order to close them.

I did make a mistake.

On the calendar from Apr 3, 2009, you had the time posted as

12:30:00 PM. What is confusing me is the PM designation.

12:30 PM is 30 minutes past noon.

I have to subtract 4 hours from it to arrive at the local time here (EST) so I can watch the charts and close the orders if necessary.

12:30:00 PM is 12:30:00 GMT. (30 minutes past noon)

12:30:00 AM is 00:30:00 GMT. (30 minutes past mignight)

The AM and PM designations are what is confusing me. Sorry.

I am getting the hang of it, tho.

I've only done news trading for one day.

I am bound to make errors.

Pictures.

Mr. ND, how do you make the pictures of your trades?

I want to post my trades for your inspection.

Also, what did you mean by: "change the settings for pending orders"?

Thank you

Thank you

I am not always monitoring the trades.

"Change settings of pending orders" means ... there is some settings as the pending orders will open 2 minutes before news event time ... or 5 minutes? it depends on the new event, right? When price will start to move? 2 or 5 minutes before news event time? Differently ... and profit level ... and hedge ...

Did you read this thread from the beginning?

I did not use hedge when I traded NFP. Later it was the idea to use hedge and 5.3 version was programmed ...

So, everything depends on the settings.
