AN Guard Lite journal

AN Guard Lite

A journal and a report for any Expert Advisor, or for your own manual trades. It only watches. It never opens, modifies or closes a position.

What it writes:
A CSV journal, one line per event: every position opened, every position closed, and why it closed (stop loss, take profit, closed by the broker, closed by a program, closed by hand), with the net result.
A text report, written when you remove it from the chart: net profit, win rate, profit factor, average win and loss, expectancy per trade, drawdown, results month by month, and how far each trade ran before it closed.

Why "how far it ran" matters:
Two trades that both close at +2 are the same line in the standard report. One may have reached +0.2 R, the other +3 R. The report counts trades by the best gain they reached, in R (multiples of the initial risk), so you can see if your break even or trailing stop is cutting winners short.

It also warns you when a position has no stop loss.

Inputs:
Scope: only the symbol of the chart, or all positions of the account.
Only this magic number (0 = all).
Journal file and report file base names.
Write the CSV journal: on / off.
Alert when a position has no stop loss: on / off.

Notes:
Attach it to one chart and leave it there.
Works on any symbol and timeframe. It does not depend on them.
The initial risk (R) is the first stop loss the program sees on the position. If your EA sets the stop a moment after the entry, that stop is used and a line in the journal says so. Without a stop loss the best gain cannot be measured, and the report says so.
The result of each trade is net: profit plus swap, commission and fees.
Files are written to the MQL5\Files folder of the terminal.
On a netting account, adding to a position changes its average price. R is calculated from the price seen when the position was first noticed.
Times are server times.

AN Guard Lite is a taste of AN Guard Pro, which is in development. The Pro version also acts: it closes positions and deletes pending orders when your daily loss or maximum drawdown limit is reached, and shows a live status panel on the chart. If you would use it, tell me in the comments which rules you need.
