Kraken 8X has traded a live account for two years without a single deposit added to save it.
Many EAs look great until a bad week comes. Then the account owner is told to "top up" so the system can recover. That extra money is not a strategy. It is a rescue, and it hides how risky the EA really is.
Kraken was built to avoid that. It manages its own risk from the balance it has, so the account stands on its own results.
Why I built Kraken
I’ve been in the forex industry since 2013 and have traded full-time since 2015. Over the years I’ve seen many EAs with perfect backtests that fall apart on a live account. I wanted something different: an EA that trades the way an experienced trader does, waits for good conditions, and protects the account first.
Kraken was built to trade my own money. It was only offered to the public after it proved itself on a real live account.
The idea behind Kraken
Every forex pair is two currencies against each other. The best moves usually happen when one currency is strong and the other is weak.
Kraken is built on currency strength. It watches the major currencies and looks for trades only where the conditions clearly favor one side. Everything else is handled automatically.
What Kraken does for you
- Scans the 28 major pairs for the best opportunities
- Opens and manages trades fully automatically
- Swing trades, holding positions for several days
- Includes a built-in risk monitor that closes trades when drawdown gets too high
- Calculates lot size from your account balance and risk settings
- Limits how many pairs are traded at the same time
Kraken runs from a single chart and manages every pair it trades.
A conservative EA, and why that matters
Kraken doesn’t trade just to stay busy. It’s selective by design and only takes the best setups it can find. It won’t chase a market that has already moved too far.
This means you may see no new trades for several days. That’s normal. Fewer trades, chosen carefully, means lower drawdown and a calmer account.
Who Kraken is for
Kraken isn’t built for excitement. You might find it boring, because some days it doesn’t trade at all. That’s on purpose.
Kraken is made for traders and investors who care more about protecting their capital than chasing fast profits:
- Large accounts and funds that need steady growth with small drawdowns
- Prop firm traders who must stay within strict daily and maximum drawdown limits
- Long-term traders who want an EA they can leave running without watching every trade
- Anyone tired of EAs that look great for a month and then wipe out the account in a single day
If you want dozens of trades a week and big monthly returns, Kraken isn’t for you. If you want an EA that grows your account slowly and steadily while keeping drawdown low, Kraken was built for you.
Not a typical martingale EA
Kraken uses a recovery method, but it doesn’t work like the usual grid or martingale EAs that add trades every few pips no matter what the market is doing. Kraken only adds to a position when the market gives a reason to.
You won’t see 10 or 20 buy or sell positions stacked on the same pair at once. Open trades stay small in number and controlled.
Prop firm ready
- FTMO news filter: follows FTMO restricted-news rules. No trades open or close during the news window, and TP/SL are paused until it passes.
- Optional weekend close: turn on Close During Weekends and all trades close on Friday before the market closes. Losing trades can be reopened on Monday so recovery continues.
- Daily drawdown protection: all trades close at your chosen daily drawdown, and Kraken can stop trading for the rest of the day.
- Daily profit target: lock in profits once the day’s target is reached.
- Randomized entries: your trades differ slightly from other Kraken users, which helps on prop firms that flag identical trades.
- No DLLs: fully compliant with MQL5 Market rules.
Some prop firms restrict martingale strategies, so always check your firm’s rules first.
Ver1 is the original, higher-risk version. The updated version earns a little less per month but with far lower drawdown, and it’s the one I recommend. Both signals show everything, including the slow weeks and the losing periods. I’d rather you judge Kraken by real trades than by a perfect-looking chart.

Why you can’t backtest Kraken in MT4
Kraken works across all 28 major pairs at the same time. The MetaTrader 4 Strategy Tester can only test one symbol at a time, so a backtest can’t show how Kraken really trades. The backtest settings included in the EA run a simple single-pair test only. The live signals are the true record of its performance.

Frequently asked questions
Kraken hasn’t traded in a couple of days. Is something wrong?
No, this is normal. Kraken is a conservative EA and doesn’t open trades randomly. When the market isn’t offering a good entry, Kraken waits. That way it avoids chasing the market at a bad price.
Please don’t expect a lot of trades each month. Kraken is selective by design and only takes the best setups it can find. Just keep it running on your VPS and it will trade once the conditions are right.
If you really want to take trades in the meantime, you can follow the recommendations Kraken shows on your chart and open the trade yourself. As long as Are you using other EA? is set to No, Kraken will handle the rest.
Can I use Kraken on a prop firm account?
Yes. Turn on Close During Weekends if your firm doesn’t allow weekend holding, keep the FTMO news filter on, and set your daily drawdown limit below your firm’s limit. Check your firm’s rules on martingale first.
Can I run Kraken with another EA on the same account?
Yes. Set Are you using other EA? to Yes so Kraken only manages its own trades.
Does Kraken use AI or a neural network?
No hype here. Kraken is built on currency strength, a method I’ve used and refined over years of live trading.
