However good an EA is, it can only do what the account allows. This page tells you what the account needs and how to check that it is set up correctly.

---

1. What the account needs

| | Must be |
|---|---|
| Platform | MetaTrader 5 |
| Account type | Hedging (not Netting) |
| Pricing type | ECN / RAW / Low Spread |
| Leverage | 1:500 recommended |
| Symbol | your broker's USDJPY, whatever suffix it carries |
| Cent account | supported |

About symbol names: the EA reads the symbol's own currencies rather than guessing from the name. USDJPY, USDJPY.a, USDJPYm and other names for the same pair all work. On any other symbol it does not trade.

Chart timeframe: attach it to an H1 chart, as tested.

---

2. Spread and commission matter more here than on gold

A currency pair moves less in a day than gold does, so the cost of each trade is a larger share of the result. Use the account type with the lowest total cost (spread plus commission) your broker offers. A wide-spread Standard account will show weaker results than a Raw account.

---

3. Leverage

Ask your broker for 1:500. Below that the system still works, but each trade ties up more margin, so a small account has less room. The EA prints the leverage the broker really gives in the Experts tab at start-up.

---

4. Cent accounts

The EA detects by itself whether the account is a cent account and converts every figure for you on the panel and in the log messages. Nothing to set.

Worth knowing: a cent account does not lower the risk. 50,000 cents is 500 dollars all the same.

---

5. VPS

Any VPS will do; the stops sit on the broker's server. A ping of 200–300 ms is fine. What matters is that the terminal stays on.

---

6. Time settings

On a live account the EA reads the broker's clock by itself. The two GMT inputs are used only in the Strategy Tester; most brokers run GMT+2 in winter and GMT+3 in summer, which are the defaults.

---

7. The data we tested on, and why you should test on yours

Our tests were run in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester on IC Markets tick data, "Every tick based on real ticks", 1:500. That is one broker's view of the market. Your broker's spread, commission, swap and execution are different.

Before you trade it with money:
1. Run it in the Strategy Tester on your own broker's USDJPY, H1, "Every tick based on real ticks".
2. Run it on a demo account at that broker for a few weeks.
3. Then decide the account size and the risk level.

We give this advice to every customer, whatever the broker.

---

8. Telegram and the mobile app (optional)

In MT5: Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → Allow WebRequest for listed URL, add https://api.telegram.org. Enter the bot token and chat id in the inputs. One Connected message arrives when the EA is attached; if it does not, the Experts tab says why. The permission is per terminal: on a new machine or VPS, set it again.

---

9. Running it beside Array Breakout X (gold)

The two EAs trade different markets and never touch each other's orders. On one account each of them sizes its Auto lot from the whole balance, so two EAs mean two drawdowns on one balance: lower the risk level on both, or use separate accounts.
