Briferendum Aftermath Series: David Cameron resigns from parliament

David Cameron, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has chosen to drop out completely from the British Parliament and with immediate effect. He is seen as the major casualty of the UK referendum vote, where the majority of the Britons voted in favor of an exit from the European Union, while Mr. Cameron was clearly voting in favor of a stay. He resigned aftermath of the vote and her longtime colleague Theresa May became the new Prime Minister of the Kingdom.

Initially, it was thought that the referendum could lead to a fresh election but Prime Minister May handled the situation so well that after Mr. Cameron’s departure, there will be just a re-election in his constituency in Oxfordshire. While announcing his departure, Mr. Cameron said that he thought long and hard before announcing and came to the conclusion that it is not possible for a former Prime Minister to be a proper backbench member of the Parliament. Everything he says or does become a distraction. He ended with his full endorsement of the conservative candidate, who would be running in his constituency.

Mr. Cameron is leaving a legacy of being seen as the man who failed to keep the UK in the European Union and only time would tell, how he is judged on that.
