Spain’s final HICP inflation is expected to have come in same as the flash
estimate in August. According to a Societe Generale research note, final HICP
inflation is likely to have confirmed the flash reading of -0.3 percent
year-on-year.
The INE does not give any details during its flash press
release. But the press release specified that the rise is mostly due to a lesser
annual decline in energy prices- gasoline and diesel, along with increased
electricity prices.
Spain’s HICP inflation is likely to continue
rebounding and become positive in September, stated Societe Generale. The
rebound in the inflation figure is expected to be mainly because of base effects
from energy prices.
