Nomura Holdings, Inc. (Jap. 野村 ホ ー ル デ ィ ン グ ス 株式会社?, NHI) - Japanese financial holding company within the zaibatsu "Nomura".
Osaka Nomura Securities Co. separated from Osaka Nomura Bank (now Daiwa Bank) December 25, 1925, and October 1, 2001 Nomura adopted a holding structure, becoming thus in Nomura Holdings. Nomura Securities was reorganized into a subsidiary. In September 2008 it was announced that Nomura Holdings will buy the assets of the investment bank Lehman Brothers in Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region, for $ 225 million.
