Tidewall NewsGuard steps your account out of the market around high-impact economic news, then lets trading start again automatically.

Many prop firm rules forbid holding or opening trades a few minutes around major news. NewsGuard handles it for you, for your manual trades and for your robots.

How it works

  • Reads the economic calendar built into MetaTrader 5. No website, no DLL, no WebRequest to set up.
  • Watches the currencies of your choice (USD by default, for example USD,EUR) and the high-impact events, or medium and high.
  • A few minutes before the event (5 by default), it closes the open positions and deletes pending orders.
  • During the news window, any trade opened by you or by another EA is closed again immediately.
  • After the window (5 minutes after by default), trading is allowed again.

On the chart

  • A clear panel: status, next event, countdown and window.
  • Warning alert before the event (15 minutes by default), pop-up and phone push notifications.

Honest limits, please read

  • NewsGuard acts on the whole account: it closes all positions, including those of other EAs.
  • It depends on the MetaTrader 5 calendar: an event missing or moved in the calendar cannot be seen.
  • MetaTrader must stay open and connected (a VPS is recommended).
  • The calendar is not available in the Strategy Tester, so the demo uses simulated event times (settable) to show the behaviour.
