Multi Prop Risk Guardian watches the whole account and acts before a prop-firm loss limit is reached. It does not open trades and does not contain a trading strategy. Attach it to any chart: it does not need to be the chart of the symbol you trade, because it watches every position on the account. It works alongside manual trading and other Expert Advisors.
How it decides
- Checks equity on every tick and on a timer (4 times per second), independent of the chart symbol, so a quiet chart does not delay a reaction.
- Daily loss limit: as a percentage of the account size or of the day-start reference; the reference can be balance, equity or the higher of the two at reset.
- Daily reset: midnight Central Europe, 17:00 New York, a fixed UTC time or broker server time. Daylight saving time is handled automatically.
- Overall loss limit: static, trailing on closed balance, trailing on equity, or trailing end-of-day, with an optional level at which the trailing stops.
- Firm presets fill these rules in one step: FTMO 2-Step and 1-Step, FundedNext Stellar 2-Step, The5ers High Stakes, FXIFY 2-Phase Standard and Classic, FundingPips 2-Step Pro, Alpha Capital Pro 8% and Pro 10%. Each preset is chosen together with its phase (for example "FTMO 1-Step: Challenge"), so only phases that the programme has can be selected; the phase sets the profit target and minimum trading days. For any other firm or programme, use the Custom rules.
- Account size: leave it at 0 and the utility reads it from the first deposit in the account history. If you enter it by hand, it is compared with that deposit and a warning appears when they differ.
- The rules of each firm change over time: check them against your firm's current terms; the panel shows the date the presets were last reviewed. Where a firm's wording leaves a detail open, the preset uses the stricter reading.
Graded response (all levels in % of the account size)
- Warning when a chosen share of the daily allowance is used.
- Block new entries near a limit: any position opened by you or by an Expert Advisor while blocked is closed immediately.
- Reduce: close the position with the largest loss.
- Close all managed positions and delete their pending orders, then stay locked until the next daily reset (daily limit) or until equity recovers (overall limit).
Optional: stop for the day at a chosen daily profit; stop when the profit target is reached once the minimum trading days are met.
Entry filters (new entries only; open positions are not touched)
- Spread spike: blocks a symbol while its spread is above a multiple of its recent average.
- Rollover window around 17:00 New York.
- High-impact news from the MetaTrader economic calendar, per currency of the symbol (optional: close affected positions before the event).
- Weekend: when weekend holding is not allowed, closes positions before the Friday close and blocks entries until the market reopens.
Information on the chart
Daily loss used and remaining, both floors and the level at which it closes, open risk to stop-loss and positions without stop-loss, profit against target, trading days, best day share (consistency), time to the next reset, next high-impact event, and counters of blocked entries and closes. Buttons: Close all now, History check, Minimize.
History check
Replays the account history against the selected rules and reports whether and when a limit would have been broken, the worst daily and overall use, trading days and best day. A per-day table is written to the common Files folder. Equity is estimated from one-minute bars at the worst price of each bar for all open positions at once, so the estimate is conservative.
Reliability
- Saves its state (day reference, highs, locks) and restores it after a restart or a VPS migration; on the first start it rebuilds the day reference and highs from the account history.
- Only one copy is active per account; a second copy stays inactive and takes over if the first one stops.
- Detects the order filling mode of each symbol; retries closes that fail and waits when the market is closed.
- Every action is written to a CSV log (common Files folder) with time, equity and reason.
Scope
Manage all positions or only selected magic numbers (manual trades have magic 0). Loss limits are always measured on the whole account.
Limitations
- MetaTrader cannot stop another program from sending an order; a blocked entry is closed right after it opens, which costs its spread and commission.
- A position can close beyond the chosen level after a price gap or slippage; the safety margin exists for this reason.
- The economic calendar is not available in the Strategy Tester.
- In the Strategy Tester the utility opens small demonstration trades (input "Strategy Tester only: open small demo trades") so that its actions can be observed; it never opens trades on a live or demo account.
- Requires "Allow Algo Trading" so that it can close positions.
Inputs — grouped as: 1. Firm rules (preset with phase, account size), 2. Custom rules, 3. Safety margins, 4. Entry filters, 5. Scope, alerts and tools. Each input has a description in the terminal.
