Overview

Adaptive Breakout Oscillator (ABO) is a separate-window technical indicator designed to observe breakout pressure across short, medium, and long observation windows.
It combines breakout pressure, range compression, and agreement between different observation horizons into one oscillator, approximately ranging from -100 to +100.
The indicator uses adaptive thresholds. When the short, medium, and long horizons disagree, the thresholds adjust dynamically to help users observe momentum changes and state transitions.

This indicator is intended for technical analysis assistance only. It does not guarantee trading results and is not financial advice.

How to Use

  1. Attach the indicator to a chart. It appears in a separate window.

  2. Observe the oscillator relative to the zero line:

    • Positive values suggest upward breakout pressure.

    • Negative values suggest downward breakout pressure.

  3. Observe the oscillator relative to the dynamic thresholds:

    • Above the upper threshold suggests bullish breakout pressure is strengthening.

    • Below the lower threshold suggests bearish breakout pressure is strengthening.

  4. Signal arrows mark state transitions:

    • Long signals are displayed below the zero line.

    • Short signals are displayed above the zero line.

    • The arrow offset can be adjusted.

  5. Use it together with trend analysis, support and resistance, money management, and independent risk control.

  6. Test different parameters on different symbols and timeframes to find settings suitable for your trading style.

  • Base Threshold : Base threshold, default 0.30 .

  • Disagreement Adaptation : Disagreement adaptation, default 0.40 .

  • Maximum Threshold : Maximum threshold, default 0.65 .

  • Show Thresholds : Show dynamic thresholds, default true .

  • Show Members : Show short, medium, and long member lines, default false .

  • Show Signals : Show long and short signal arrows, default true .

  • Signal Arrow Offset : Signal arrow offset from zero, default 10.0 .
